Coventry V Leicester 20 March Emb 2nd Leg

Recommended Posts

£18 for a challenge match wow!

All meetings are £18 similar with most clubs, Bees have cheaper kids prices than pretty much most of the league which is good for me and family.

Plus a programme, not sure how much they are this year ?

Programme is optional but I think it's 2.50? I have an app that I use so haven't bought a programme in a while.

Yeah that's true for a double header, there is a curfew for meetings on Fridays I think it was confirmed 10.30pm after the shambles last season. On Saturdays the curfew is longer for the stox I believe.

Perhaps someone knows the real story. I am pretty certain that i saw something from MH in the press last year where he apologised for the curtailment of several meetings. Words to the effect " He misunderstood the rules". I have always been under the impression that there isn't a curfew, indeed I have attended many meetings at brandon on Fridays that have run way past 11.00 pm in the past.

It seems it has been changed it was said in the same statement if I remember correctly, I think to 10.30pm but possibly 10.45pm? The King's Lynn one a couple of years back was past 11pm so not sure when it was changed.

BEES v LEICESTER, PREVIEW

Thursday March 19, 2015

COVENTRY race into action at Brandon for the first time this season when local rivals Leicester provide the opposition on Friday evening (7.30pm).

The Buildbase Bees will be looking to turn the tables in the Lions in the second leg of the East Midlands Bowl, and in the process set themselves up for the start of the Elite League campaign next week.

Winter signings Danny King and Jakub Jamrog make their home debuts for the Bees, whilst Stuart Robson has just embarked on his fourth spell in Coventry colours.

Opponents Leicester served notice last Sunday that they have assembled a competitive septet for 2015, spearheaded by Grand Prix newcomer Jason Doyle who scored a paid maximum in the first leg.

Polish youngster Szymon Wozniak will be making his first appearance at Brandon, whilst the battle at reserve should also be intense as Jason Garrity and James Sarjeant look to get the better of Josh Auty, who was also unbeaten last weekend.

Auty is partnered by Simon Lambert, who missed the first leg, whilst Bees welcome back No.1 Hans Andersen, who was absent from the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium due to a family bereavement.

Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: “Judging by last Sunday Leicester seem to have a really good team this season and it looks like they are going to be very difficult to beat on their own track.

“On Friday, though, they are coming to our backyard, and we will be ready. We need everyone to get behind the boys, they are aiming to entertain and bring success.”

Friday’s 15-heat senior meeting will be followed by a full six-heat second half featuring the majority of the Coventry Storm team members as they prepare for their National League campaign.

BUILDBASE BEES (from): Hans Andersen, Jason Garrity, Chris Harris, Jakub Jamrog, Danny King, Stuart Robson, James Sarjeant.

LEICESTER (from): Josh Auty, Jason Doyle, Simon Lambert, Mikkel Michelsen, Bjarne Pedersen, Grzegorz Walsaek, Szymon Wozniak.

Can only see a home defeat for us tonight I'm afraid, Leicester look strong all the way through and I think they will win by 6 or more.

Hope I'm wrong obviously!

Anyone know if we can use season tickets tonight? I''m guessing not as it's not a league meeting but thought I would check...

Garrity had the beating of Auty last season when he guested at Brandon. Should be a couple of decent heats involving those two!

Has this one been rained off yet?

Had sun pretty much all day, hopefully the track will be prepared similar to last week where it seems it was very good.

I think if there is plenty of dirt on the track then josh may have the upper hand.
