Hancock/ Holder are poor examples as the people i know most of those always rated those two both were different eras to Lee and as a gage of talent Lee would be the worst example for anybody to judge themselves against.

Ok Sid think this over very slowly then........Risager is also from a different era to Lee,but you are trying to compare them.Not me,not anyone else,but YOU!!!!

That is so true.There was the blonde kid who at a very young age was being trained by Ajax and then only made it to non league level.I also remember at Millwall we had a kid,Cherno Samba I think his name was who was being lined up for a million quid transfer by Liverpool at the age of 14 and I don't recall him ever making it.Sid won't believe it though

There's no shame in forgetting things, I do it all the time. However, when you have a number of people remind you of something, in this case Risager, plus link you to articles backing the subject up, the adult thing to do it hold your hands up and say fair play, I didn't recall him being so touted.

Michael Lee at 16 was just before my time...I saw him at 18 and he was some some talent..I imagine possibly the best 16 year old..

 

I saw some good 16 year olds...Mark Loram I saw in the junior league at 16 and he was good....Andy Smith at Belle Vue was very exciting at 16 but the worst gater ever at that age...Havelock I saw.......but the best 16 year old I ever saw , and still is , was Joe Screen....I'd known about him for a while as he had the same sponsor as my brother in law so it was basically a countdown to when he was 16....10 pts from 12 on his debut and the track craft of an international rider ....a couple of weeks later he was passing Sam Ermolenko from the back....amazing talent...

I actually think Screen underachieved at world level for his talent but at 16 he was the best by fat that I've ever seen......I've only seen Lambert on TV and he looks a good prospect , very up and down but that's expected but he has a really good chance of doing really well I think with the right backing.

Not knocking Lambert but he is not in the same League at16 as the guys you have mentioned.

I know that RIsager was rated are you that thick.? my point was that at no time in my memory was he rated higher than Nielsen , Gundersen ,Knudsen do you get that! don't respond to me please to be honest you are a pain in the ASS move on and p..s someone else off.

A big mistake on my part WK, you have warned me endless times Thankyou for that!,not to react i did very badly.I have not spoken to Witcher for weeks,yet i spoke and there is no doubt in my mind he has intentionally inflamed the position a pre meditated act.Again no excuses my own fault not a problem with that there are some great people on the forum great company great /value.

He will do well good luck to the lad i think he will have a good season,i would love a seven plus average at Lynn he is well capable his gating does worry me a big talent no doubt.

A poor example have a rethink ? you yourself do you rate Lambert or not? forget the stats and figures and age Risager was not in the same league at the same stage.

Perfectly reasonable example is Risager.

Im sure Sidney could start a fight in a room on his own!

 

Justin Elkins, Ben Howe , 2 more examples of riders who didnt go forward.

Mark Loram was riding British league at 16 and i think averaged 4.5 from reserve.

 

All depends if Lambert wants it enough or in 2 - 3 years could be another David Howe or Simon Stead. Good riders short of top class

I would not put Lambert at Lee and Wards level (ie) those two have to be the most talented riders ever?.Lambert though is a talent when i have seen him his gating is very poor but he is rounded a very good rider indeed a thinking rider one ride this year he produced at Lakeside this year was awesome.

I never ever heard from anybody that Risager was that highly rated,?certainly not in the league of NIelsen,Gundo,Knudsen.
