2015 Elrc 21st March

Recommended Posts

I thought on balance that it had been agreed by most fans that the ELRC was better run at the start of the season when riders and fans alike are raring for some action instead of at the end, after countless GPS and league matches and when all the playoffs are happening in possible poor weather??

Don't raise your hopes up too much as there is still plenty of time for the 24 hour Flu virus to strike.

My wishlist for the ELRC and all similar events:-

1. The BSPA try and get a sponsor to cover all the events.

2. Bring the prices down and basically get as many people through the gates as possible, you want capacity crowds.

3. TV coverage for all the events, even if a league fixture has to be sacrificed in return.

4. Promoters, riders, officials create an environment where these events are seen as the pinnacle of the domestic season. All riders should want to ride in them, all fans should want to go to them.

5. Once on TV, give the sponsors the maximum amount of exposure possible. In front of a TV audience and a big crowds. Give sponsors their moneys worth and then some. then they will come back, with bigger deals.

6. Pull out all the stops to make sure the event goes ahead, if this means increasing the stadium workforce for the day, getting more workers for the track etc. so be it. Never have a repeat of the 2014 ELRC meeting.

Hopefully this would get the sport back to a situation whereby clubs actually benefit from these "shared events" and the profile of the sport is raised again. It's a sorry sign that at the moment, these events seem to be seen by some as a nuisance or a distraction.

I'm not going. £25 is a rip off.

Never got this school of thinking ...it's £25 to enter and you a choice if you want to go or not ...There no trick or deceit here and that is what a rip off is .

is speedway the new Tesco/morrisons ? you can only rip people off so many times and then you start paying the price for an overpriced product. only ever been to one blrc (e lite) league championship. that was at belle vue a long time ago. but at least you saw really top riders and no fill in guys who wouldn't normally get a look in any where. and there were enough teams in it to have 1 rider representing their team, not 2. TOTAL RIP OFF .

If i wasn't working i might have been tempted to go but the £25 to get in is a lot, plus £4 for programme and fuel on top of that.

The sport is struggling for fans and it is suicide to charge this amount of money when all it is doing is stopping actual fans from going.

I think this is the 3rd year the price has been around £25 to watch the ELRC .The BSPA must be satisfied with the numbers attending or they would have addressed the issue by now.People will moan about the price but many will still go,enough to make it viable, don't expect any change soon.

Thank you Star Lady. Why does common sense come way down the list with the people who run the sport/.

Oh for a Johnnie Hoskins or a Mike Parker...someone with vision and nous.

Well I'm looking forward to supporting the Lynn riders, hope you lot miss £25 worth of great racing nur nur nur nur nur!! ;-)

I won't be buying a prog, not necessary and my car does 60 to the gallon so £25 diesel and hopefully a passenger, not so bad :-)

If I was really tight I could take sarnies and a flask ;-)

it's not bad value with 7 of the 2015 GP field and 6 former GP riders.
