Guest
In the late 1940s, BBC 'Monday Night at Eight" staged a match race between Ron Johnson at New Cross and Tommy Croombs at West Ham. Because of the difference in track size it was equated to the distance covered at New Cross in a certain time. It think that Croombs was the winner. This would have been in early 1948. Can any member clarify the situation in regard to what did take place.
