SteveLyric2
Quite right FB, to win the play-offs a team has to beat 2 of the other 3 teams. Poole beat Kings Lynn and Coventry. job done. end of.

Swindon should have been champs - it's only fair as POOLE didn't beat them in the playoffs - stick an asterisk next to POOLE as Swindon are the rightful winners

Quite ironic really, you going on like that. And before you say it, I don't want Lynn the win the league by default. I've always believed if it can't be done right than then it shouldn't be done.. Â But now that, even with all their luck, Poole didn't win the League section of the competition, and we also know that Rob Lyon would've picked Coventry as their semi-final opponents. My question now is: Would Poole have needed to dig a big hole to get that first meeting cancelled had they had been against Swindon instead of Lynn. If Rob Lyon chose Coventry then he's less of a good manager than I thought. The Bees were the 'form' team with no injury worries going into the play-offs - hence they got to the final!
Villain
I don't class myself as a Poole hater but following the FIM statement the ramifications are quite clear. BWitcher and SCB are spot on.
tellboy
Why is everyone getting so excited on this topic.Read the title of the topic and this is correct. Lynn topped the table with Darcys points taken away. BWitcher didn't mention the play-offs in his first post he/she merely stated that Lynn have now topped the table. How topics seem to alter over the course of a few pages.

It was a joke aimed at all the fools who said Darcy should due the FIM Â Truth be told, I find this all amusing. pointsmeanplayoffs
So despite the ruling of the FIM, the SCB are going to ignore the removal of Ward's points part as it's.....well.....a bit of a pain isn't it. Just as well the UCI didn't adopt this approach when stripping Lance Armstrong of his 7 Tour de France titles after he was found guilty of doping. Instead, they simply declared retrospectively that the there was no winner of the tours in those years. To me personally, whilst Poole's name is on the trophy (again) after winning the grand final last season, there was no real winner of the Elite League last year. Hopefully it will be much clearer and scandal free in 2015. And as a Stars fan can I just state that I wouldn't want to win the league by some kind of exclusion/ruling/default nonsense. Trees
Unless there is some financial incentive from Sky etc which the club/riders could claim back from Poole ☺

That's alright then because you didn't.
