uk_martin
Let's guess at which of the countries that fancies itself as a major international speedway "power" is missing...??? Hands up in the air if you think you know the answer....keep your hands up whilst I count...March 26 in Gorzow - Poland U21 v Sweden U21 v Denmark U19March 27 in Zielona Gora: - Poland U19 v Sweden U21v Denmark U1928 March in Leszno - Poland U19 v Sweden U21 v Denmark U19March 29 in Bydgoszcz - Poland U21 v Sweden U21 v Denmark U19April 25 Silkeborg - Denmark U19 v Sweden U19 v Poland U18April 25 in Silkeborg - Denmark U21 v Sweden U21 v Poland U20May 12 Gislaved - Sweden U19 v Poland U19May 13 in Malmo - Sweden U19 v Poland U19October 10 Munkebo - Denmark U19 v U19 Sweden U19 v Poland U19 Source - http://www.polskizuzel.pl/juniorzy-pojada-z-dunczykami-szwedami/ Only shame is that the USA "Dream Team" couldn't have been fitted in if they were around, to make a 3TT into a 4TT or something. So shall we guess at whose youngsters are given some scope and opportunities to develop, and which aren't? No doubt that taking part in "Mickey Mouse" meetings like this wouldn't be in the best interests of British Speedway, would it?

Bavarian
I remember those England v Germany test matches at u16 level. I attended a couple of them, at Landshut and Abensberg. They were of great benefit for the English and German lads, and they were quite entertaining and competitive matches. Why can't we have them once more? SCB
Now this is where, IMO, we fail massively. We should be arranging such meetings. I'm also sure if you invited the Latvians (all 5 or 6 of them LOL) over for a test series that people would go and watch as it would be new, exotic riders. Same with a Russian touring team. People would go to watch new riders, probably not so interested i a GB vs Aus full test match as we see the Aussies every week on Sky, the SWC and the GPs. I remember the excitement when the Russians first toured in the 60's. That level of excitement and interest is missing from British speedway today. That level of excitement and interest is missing from British speedway today. I remember the buzz when little Olching from Germany came to England in 1973 and took on the Birmingham Brummies amongst others...you don't need the mighty Super Powers to generate excitement. On the subject of Super Powers though,..there's always the USA Dream Team.
SCB
I remember the excitement when the Russians first toured in the 60's. That level of excitement and interest is missing from British speedway today. When ever I used to go and visit one of my elderly relatives (now sadly passed away) she'd often ask me about the speedway. She ask how "Crumpys son" was doing and without fail would tell me the story of a test match at BV where the Russian gated in heat 1 and beat Ivan, "nobody did that" apparently. They travelled from Newport to Manchester to watch a BV vs Russia meeting because it meat getting to see a load of riders whos name they probably couldn't say for the first and possibly last time back in the days when it wasn't the easy 2.5 hour run there that it is today!
