Sky Meetings

Even worse than last years only showing speedway once every 2 weeks instead of a weekly slot. So it may be that they are only going to show it now once a month. It is time now for another broadcaster to step in and take over the reigns.

Hopefully with a broadcaster that is comited as Sky seems to have put the sport on the back burner we could get back to seeing a lot better coverage than we are getting from Sky.

It needs someone that would give a good exposure of the sport and can't see why they can't have EL one night and PL another night. Or is that asking for to much. How do Sky stand with holding the veiwing rights, would they hand over the rights if someone else stepped in.

With the billions of pounds that Sky have had to pay extra for football there will be even less to pay for Speedway. It will eventually disappear from from their channels. That is unless they get it for free. Then more people will have to go to the tracks if they want to see Speedway. Will be a good thing when this happen.

With the amount they're paying for football they're going to have to put there prices up so much for the Sky Sports package that anyone not interest in football is going to see it as poor(er) value for money and not bother. I could never justify sky Sports in the past just for the speedway so God knows how many people will feel the same when they stick an extra tenner on the price to cover the new football deal soon.

SKY had better watch it... they piss off speedway fans... and we will withdraw our vast support and shut them down.

Full stop.

We closed all those tracks, didn't we? When we withdrew our support...

Imagine the power we'd wield, especially if those freeloaders who scrounge off the internet... actually paid their subs...

Don't worry there is plans to add at least one more meeting in to the opening few weeks, As far as I know it's just waiting on clubs to check stadium and rider availability.

As others have said there is also some concern about the early weeks of the season with the weather hopefully there will be more meetings later in the year for the race to the Playoffs.

The scheduling is not helped by the GP as there is a few weeks ruled out altogether as they have back to back GPs its been agreed not to run during these weeks and obviously lose a couple of weeks with WTC

Wi'll just have to hope Eurosport picks up some more meetings? Don't think I'll be paying another tenner on top of lasts year Sky

Sport prices for less meetings!

Eurosport only show the feed generated by someone else. So basically can't show a meeting unless someone else films it.
