COVENTRY Mercia-Vikings announce local lad KYLE ROBERTS as first rider in 2015 squad

With the news that the CITY GEARBOXES Mercia-Vikings will once again represent Coventry in the 2015 Midland Development League team boss Laurence Rogers has started to announce his squad members.

First name on the team sheet is local lad KYLE ROBERTS, who has progressed from racing his 125cc bike in second halves last year to a full 500cc machine this winter in amateur meetings at Scunthorpe. His progress has been impressive with team boss Laurence Rogers and team sponsor Gary Drinkwater both watching him recently.

Rogers commented , “ I had seen footage on Facebook of Kyle and been amazed at how quickly he had settled in on the 500cc bikes. So Gary and I went to watch him at a recent Amateur event with Gary taking along one of his machines he owns for Kyle to use. We were both highly impressed and we know he is a local Coventry lad who wants to ride for the club “

“I am pleased to announce him as the first name on the Vikings squad and believe he will learn a lot this year and be challenging for a National League spot with The Storm eventually.”

Kyle has made quite a name for himself at cycle-speedway and has some titles to his name which make impressive reading. Kyle Roberts
