blueherb777
City Gearboxes are the new Sponsor of the National League. It beggers the question why has the Elite League and Premier League NOT got a sponsor ? As the Elite and Premier are on Sky you would of thought a sponsor could be found. AndyK86
Maybe wanting a bit too much money could be Elite or Premier League's problem instead of taking whatever is offered I don't know.As for National League this is great news and I hope it is a great benefit to stand alone clubs like Buxton. uk_martin
http://companycheck.co.uk/company/04588536 I tried to find out a bit more about this company to see how there is a fit with speedway. If there were terraces full of engineers and mechanics, I could see the point. Well, there may be some "retired" engineers and mechanics in the crowds, maybe... Strange though that a company will have invested some money to raise their profile, and public awareness, but then when an interest is sparked, they are nowhere to be found. I "Googled" their full business name and their web site (if they have one) was very hard to find. Still, thank you to Mr & Mrs Drinkwater for putting your money where your mouths are. I shall look forward to the end of they year, when looking back on the car cleaning bucket being raffled off will no doubt be ranked amongst the highlights of the season. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.28283 Edited February 6, 2015 by uk martin
SCB
As the Elite and Premier are on Sky you would of thought a sponsor could be found. Probably because there is no fan out there with the millions it would take to sponsor the league for a few years. Some fans paying a few £1000 to sponsor the NL is a bit different. It's not like someone from the establishment has gone out and sought this sponsorship. This is just Coventrys commercial guy offering the sport a few ££. National League Clubs will be grateful for any extra funds, however great or small. p.s. Millions ??? This is Speedway we are talking about, not Football,Rugby or Cricket. jim the whipper
Shame it was not announced earlier , could have been the (financial) shot in the arm that brought the I.O.W. back . . because it looks like the Isdlanders are consigned to the history books now ,, shame

Recipients of charity says it all about the state of speedway in this country.
