As I said in a much earlier post maybe more people, especially female, would vote if voters usernames were hidden.

Should Phil be asked to hide usernames?

Can you see the Usernames of those who have Voted - I can't.

As far as I can see the Usernames are hidden.

Age could be the problem, I know the feeling.

Just voted and see that 174 votes cast...not enough to be a reliable sample but precious few under-25's.

Actually, 174 votes would be seen as plenty by a company doing market research. Next time an advert tells you 84% of cats prefer XXX or 92% of women prefer YYY look at the small print, it will say in a survey of anything between 50 and 250 people.

True SCB but given the BSF membership it is a small sample and, given the nature of this particular poll, does not tell us much.

I agree...92% of 84 women is meaningless

So, there must of been at least 1000 that took part in the 'domestos' poll,,,

if you got everyone who went to speedway to take part,,, it would probly tell you the same,,, 'more older men' go,,,

  • 2 weeks later...

I have tried to pm Phil to ask if he can hide usernames in the poll but he is not accepting new messages.

Phil, if you read this will you pm me.

Just tried Phil again but still not accepting messages. Is there anyone in admin who can look at this so that, as has been suggested, we might get a fairer result?

Perhaps all the admin team are currently at work / attending to other matters SS?

I really don't think hiding user names will make any difference at all to the voting. If someone doesn't want to admit they're a 'lady over 60' it's because they just can't be bothered to vote in a poll not because their user name will be shown. 60 is nothing these days and I'll happily admit to being nearly 75. :)

You could be right Gemini but as some have suggested otherwise just trying to leave "no stone unturned"

Perhaps it's because I've not turned into a miserable old sod yet. There's still time.
