Two candidates for this side are the 1940s brothers Jack 'Crash A Day' Cooley and his brother Len.

Jack rode post-war for New Cross, West Ham and Bristol, while Len had a spell at Rayleigh.

If Vic Harding came from that area - most certainly but I think he was born in East Ham, a different area in London?

Thanks TWK. Vic Harding was born in East Ham but then as you point out lived at Canvey Island.
