Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?

Nothing against the North East at all - even like parts of it. I do find the indignation when someone makes a sweeping generalisation about a place somewhat ironic though...

You mean a bit like you and immigration per se.

Once upon a time, quite some time ago in a sleepy hamlet on the North East coast. There was a man, who was rich with a wealth of knowledge, and had lots patrons. Everyone got on great.

Anyway, after year's of bad winter weather and fending off the Vikings, decided to move up-stream and encroach on the Monks, who lived in a more popular area, The Quayside, where they had 'night clubs & kebab shops'. The Monks, not a volatile lot, didn't mind this and were quite happy with them.

This man and his patrons enjoyed the Quayside so much, they built a big house, just like a caslte, on the banks of the Tyne high above the river, then named the place 'Newcastle'. From this high up place, they could throw bits of old food and rubbish down to the poorer folk below, and by some strange co-incedence, this is how 'football' was invented. 'King Dave' of Newcastle, after dining on a suckling pig, threw its head from his turret and it hit a pauper on the head, and then landed in a bucket,,, as the pauper lay, moaning, a word like 'ggggooooaaaallll' came from him, while everyone was cheering and laughing. 'Football' was born. Everyone was so excited, they were playing this game all the time and other folk soon wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

While this mania was going on, the evil wizard 'White Lightning', from the parish of Sunderland, who had quite an association with 'Dave' from times when they had come together to fend the Vikings off, but did seem to still have a gripe with folk from Sweden, and other parts of the world. Fascinated with this game sent a pigeon to 'Dave' to see if they, the two different towns could get together, for old times sake, and play against each other. The game was such a success, its been played ever since. They call them 'Derbys', these games have fierce rivallry, with people shouting at each other and 'name calling' and sometimes folk end up hurt, the two manager's 'Dave and White Lightning' are often falling out with each other, but always find a way back.

In more recent time, more folk, from southern area's, like where the goverment are from, 'Southern Softies' have been getting involved with the game, but don't like the idea of people shouting and name calling,,, so they invented 'political correctness', where everyone should be nice to each other, but that doesn't seem to work either...

I found that along with the UK, Cyprus and Malta were both 'Commonwealth Countries' within Europe,,, although 'google' may not be 100% accurate, it's pretty reliable :-)

Those are the only sovereign Commonwealth countries in Europe, although you could also include Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man who compete separately at the Commonwealth Games.

As do Scotland, Wales and Ulster.....?

We were talking other than the UK. The above are UK and not internationally established as separate territories, whereas the others I mentioned are.

Think there will be a few more missing out sadly. There is only 1 EL club that has had its visa application returned but more should come through in the next week. Once that is cleared the riders can then re-apply for their visa.

Someone's been reading SwindonSportlink then!!:wink::t:

I see at last we have managed to get back to the topic in hand. Just seen that Taylor Poole is one of the first bunch of Assies that have been officially named that his visa has been refused. So the issue with injured riders maybe getting a visa application has now gone out of the window.

It will be very interesting how many actually get the nod and how many of them fail to get visa for this season.

It may just get harder and harder for them as the years go by. It dosen't look that there is very much that can be done to alter the rulings they are making.

I think it's more like 1 in 5000 in the UK are Bulgarian. 1 in 400 Brits in Bulgaria.

So you stopped in Varna on a cruise? I wonder what impression Bulgarians would get if they sailed-up the Tyne and alighted in Newcastle city centre on a Saturday night... ;)

My daughter's friend teaches English in Bulgaria...my daughter has visited her numerous times and absolutely adores Bulgaria and the people...she even got a job out there herself last year during the summer holidays

No problems for Bulgarian nationals (and vice versa for UK nationals there). Both are member states of the EU.

Why should the rulings be altered?

a level has been set, line drawn, you are one side of the line or tother..

Everyone knows where they stand then, don't they....? Good enough, not good enough.... Simples..
