weatherwatcher
Imagine UKIP win the General Election, the UK leaves the European Union and all the Polish , Swedish, Danish riders have to apply for Visas. Good or bad for British Speedway ? I am sure that day will come very soon, would not be at all suprised if they got the majority in the coming elections. Then the real fun will start. The only riders you will be able to see on our tracks will be British riders as they plan to stop all imigration, so if they do as they say and pull out of the EU all the European riders will be gone along with the Aussie lads and the Yanks. That will be real fun trying to make up 8 EL league teams and all the PL teams. The PL will have to depend on all the 16 and 17 year old NL boys and the NL will then have to use the Northen and Midland Devevolopment kids. Not sure who would make up thye places for the EL teams, but it just may come a lot sooner than later. How many true fans of speedway will still be on the terrace if this happens, I am sure all the prices for admission will have to drop by at least 50%. Still we may get to see some really close racing then and have a batch of British riders in the GP's in a few years time.

They'll probably get my vote but they have no chance of winning my constituency. I'd love to be wrong by the way.

Good or bad for British Speedway ? It wasn't so long ago that Sweden and Poland weren't in the EU and their riders had to have just that. I remember Jimmy Nilsen and Per Jonsson struggling to get work permits at the start of their British careers.
Mr Snackette
Those much "maligned pair" as you put it bring absolutely nothing of worth to this Country at all. Unless, of course, you consider Begging, Pickpocketing, Busking and collecting Benefits as being 'useful'. Further down the line I expect those two Countries to end up like Greece. Why is racist filth like this tolerated? I appreciate that there are those who post on here, who lack a decent education and as a consquence post drivel, an example of which can be seen above. For your information WK, the life of a very good friend of mine was saved as result of the dedication and brilliance of a Slovakian para medic and a Bulgarian surgeon. The generalisations of your argument are frankly offensive. It's like me saying that everyone from the North-East are pot smoking, paranoid, racist scum.....OK come to think of it you win!!!!!!!7 Edited February 7, 2015 by Mr Snackette
SCB
And Poland & the Czech Republic only join in 2004. So up to then only the decent Poles and Czechs could ride PL. In fact, Prior to 2004 did a Pole ride PL? Was David Kujawa the first one to ride PL when he signed for Newport?

HenryW
Dariusz Fliegert rode a whole season for Edinburgh on loan from Rybnik in 1992Being pedantic, I think that Dariusz raced in the British League Division 2 and SCB asked about Poles in the premier league

lewy
I'm intrigued after the "workshop" how many Australians will now end up getting their work permits turned down - by my workings out after reading the criteria again there could and should be a few missing out! Interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks. What you don't know??
ch958
No wonder Brian Havelock got fed up with you, given how you conduct yourself on here.. It's a forum and he expresses his views as he sees it. He is never less than polite and is never abusive I don't agree with everything he says but he's always worth reading IMO Your comment has no validity at all And by the way falling out with BH is a badge of honour
