mickthemuppet
Sorry have i just read Ronnie O'Sullivan greatest snooker player ever?? Lol isnt near the level Hendry was. Most talented doesnt mean the best I am afraid that you and Lucifer Sam are so wrong both of you are Probably the best judge of this is their head to heads. Hendry only beat O'Sullivan 22 times out of 56 with 4 drawn . Not even close for Hendry. Then Ronnie O'Sullivan has just past Stephen Hendry's 100 breaks and he has been playing 7 years less. R.O'S leads 13 to 11 in Maximium Breaks If you were watching the recent Masters tournament all the top players like John Virgo. Ken Docherty and Steve Davis said Ronnie was the best. Hope you can see the error of your choice with this information. Edited January 28, 2015 by mickthemuppet

Hope you can see the error of your choice with this information. O'Sullivan is wildly inconsistent, and a number of players such as Peter Ebdon knew how to grind him down. O'Sullivan has never achieved anywhere near the level Hendry maintained from 1990 to 1996. I stopped watching snooker at one point, because it was so boring with Hendry just winning everything time after time after time. I disliked Hendry with a passion because he kept on beating Jimmy White, but I still admit he's very easily the best of all-time. Snooker's an easy one to determine the all-time great. All the best Rob
OveFundinFan
Last night I took some time to watch You Tube and some world Championship races. Brought back all the bad memories of rolling at the tapes, and the biggest offenders (from the races I watched) were Mauger and Olsen, but both of them were "out-rolled" though by Jerzy Szczakiel especially in the 1973 world final and the run off with Mauger. There was some atrocious refereeing in those days, and none the more so then that 1973 world final in Poland - begs the question Who was paying the referees wages that night. OK, Szczakiel had a good meeting, a very good meeting, but he only competed in 2 world individual finals - 0 points in his first one, won his last one. Story goes he was not allowed to compete in the UK by the polish authorities so we never got to see his true abilities over here. Because of the abuse of rolling at the starts in those "dark" years I have to discount the likes of Mauger and Olsen (probably others) as the best gaters and great world champions. Of course they were great riders, but with such blatant rolling they dont rank with me among the really top greats.

I was NO Fan of Ivan Mauger or Ole Olsen - but - I do NOT agree with that statement.

All the best Rob Rob . I hope you have a big shovel as you are digging an awfully big hole to bury yourself in. In head to head's Peter Ebdon only beat Ronnie O'sullivan 12 times in 34 meetings with 1 draw. Hardly ground him down did he. Ronnie O'sullivan has a better head to head than against anybody. That makes him the best ever Edited January 29, 2015 by mickthemuppet
