SCB
Stuart Robson. Bit of justice handed out by Havvy jnr? Funny that, as thats what I thought. In stead use the guy who replaced him at Redcar! Leicester are refusing to pay 30k for Doyle, if Doyles not worth 30k then Summers isn't worth 15k. So makes Redcars 25k seem OTT but then we all knew that
Joseq7
The money we've historically wasted on Ross Brady and Robert Kziesak we should pay no transfer fees for anybody. Total waste of money buying anyone. Never get any of it back. 25 grand????? It's total lunacy.

And owning a riders contract is a waste of paper, as the rider can walk away anytime someone offers him more money and any plans you had regarding "your" asset goes ** up and suddenly the rider you thought you had under contract is riding against you. The system doesn't work. Everyone except the wise men at the BSPA can see it doesn't work. Maybe they do, but have their own agenda for maintaining the status quo.
smod
Glasgow have offered a sensible fee and has been turned down by Redcar Glasgow offered £12K and, as you say were turned down. Redcar are asking for £25K. The deal is done, Aaron Summers is a Tiger and the transfer fee will be decided by arbitration. Presumably somewhere between £12 and £25K. me2
£12K sounds like a reasonable offer to me, considering Redcar paid £8K to Edinburgh not that long ago. Havelock has just plucked a figure out of thin air. He's pissed off because he would have thought he was a long term asset and you can't really blame him, but he must realise it works both ways. As soon as Summers average didn't fit, or someone better came along, Summers would have been punted out on loan whether he liked it or not. It's the nature of the game. I always liked Summers and think he'll be a great signing for Glasgow. Damn.
The White Knight
My Son informs me that Aaron Summers is asking, on Twitter, if anyone needs a full time Mechanic as he isn't sure he will get a Team this year. It will be a downright shame if he doesn't get a Track, he is a very good Rider in my opinion and definitely does not deserve to be left on the shelf. Good luck to you Aaron - you deserve better.

I imagine that if he hadn't submitted a written transfer request he would have been fixed up on a loan deal some time ago.

Giving the stance Havelock took over Matej Kus there`s every chance he would've done the same with Summers.
foamfence
Giving the stance Havelock took over Matej Kus there`s every chance he would've done the same with Summers. Kus was on loan, Summers requested a transfer. If Berwick were that desperate to keep Kus, they could have gone to arbitration, the surprise is that whoever made the offer to Summers hasn't already done that. All true, but in both cases Havelock demanded a transfer fee, and in both cases he has put an unrealistic figure on the head of both riders. Alright Summers saying its greediness on twitter...Summers would have been at Redcar no danger had he wanted to stay or Glasgow not turned his head.. Suggesting he wants to go to Glasgow for anything other than more money ok son, we understand you just fancy a change Works both ways and cant really blame old Havvy seen as he was stitched up last season with Lawson.

Fair enough, though Havelock`s valuation of Summers is a bit steep to say the least, in fact IMO Havelock can put whatever valuation he wants on Summers, he is only worth what Glasgow are willing to pay, at the end of it all if Glasgow want Summers badly enough they could go to arbitration and let the figure be decided that way but I think they may look else where leaving Aaron without a club. Bill Wilson
We could forget Summers and go for Kauko or Magnus Karlsson. No transfer fee
