Guest
Not sure if you are trolling, unable to read or just thick, but I'm out. That's a rather rude comment on your part. All I am trying to do is established the credentials of Barry Butterworth in New Zealand speedway circles. Seemingly, I have failed. No more from me on the topic either. van wolfswinkel
His brothers Billy and Bobby Butterworth were more worthy of a mention, far better riders IMO.
Ghostwalker
http://www.dn.se/sport/150-framsta-svenska-idrottarna-genom-tiderna/ This Swedish newspaper poll ranks Tony Rickardsson at 46 but no other Speedway riders I noticed. The Swedes have always been enlightened about Speedway and I thought Fundin or Nygren at least would have been here, would we get any in a UK poll? Well Sweden is the 7th best Country in the world in the combined Summer and Winter Olympic all time medals table. I think Fundin should have been on the list but in Sweden motorsport aren't really "acknowledged" by the wide general public and particular not by most sports journalists. One would think that any sportsman/woman who had won a World title in any sport would make their country's top 150. On that basis not only Fundin but Knutsson should be there. I have not seen the list but would expect it to be dominated by skiers. Not that much domination, about 8 of the top 40 are some form of skier (cross country or alpine). I think the list is quite accurate but Zlatan is a bit too high up in the list.
