Rob Lee
From the BSPA website: "KING’S Lynn have named an unchanged top five for the 2015 Elite League season as they bid to build on a successful campaign where they just missed out on reaching the Grand Final." Surely this must be the first time in history that a successful team has been able to remain unchanged? Maybe the much-maligned BSPA finally got it right in setting the team-building limits. Or maybe you know different...........
A ORLOV
It certainly helped increasing the team limit to 34, although a few say it is too high, and only Poole was above the new limit by 1.69 points and have to get rid of a rider. It is good that a team can remain in place, and I feel that many fans prefer the same riders if they did well, rather than have the constant breaking up of teams in the past due to low team limits.
Jason.C
Poole did it in 2005 after winning the double in 2004 with a top 5 of : Sullivan(replaced rickardsson in 04) lindback, ferjan, kasprzak,Bjarne pedersen. 2005 wasn't a good season and pretty sure the side went out at the first hurdle in the play offs
SCB
Coventry started 2007 with the same declared 1-7 that they had ended 2006 (and won the KOC) with. Nicholls, Harris, Schlein, Janniro, Allen, Smolinski, Risager. That season they won the league, KOC and Craven Shield.
Steve0
Why does this need a separate thread? Surely this must be the first time in history that a successful team has been able to remain unchanged? Maybe the much-maligned BSPA finally got it right in setting the team-building limits. Christ, I bet you are an absolute riot down the pub I expect for the purposes of the point of the thread, 'successful' would be finishing joint top of the table on points.

semion
I don't go down the pub! Success=Winning! KL won nothing - ergo not successful! Simples! Merry Christmas Kings Lynn Never win anything in the top League, so its all about degress for us. Poole reaching the play-offs and then not winning is failure. For Lynn reaching the playoffs is cause for an open top Bus ride through the town.
Jason.C
If kings lynn manage to find the form they started with this season they are serious threat. There drop in form just proves the league is a marathon, not a sprint and luck surely is a key factor with injuries etc. good on them for being able to retain the original line up bar one. It would be nice to see it happen more often

ouch
Maybe it's good for other teams that The Aces don't finish near the top as when they do you get a massive reduction the following year.
Rob Lee
Ho hum... Got that wrong big time, didn't I? Not only got my facts wrong (Should have known about Cov's 2006/7 teams, I was a regular at Brandon in those days), but got my knuckles rapped by the thread police ably represented by Steve0. Merry Christmas.
Bagpuss
How very dare you. When you get home you should go straight to your room without any tea. And remember to check with the relevant authorities before starting a thread in future.

My wife said that nothing good would come of this forum thingy. She'll probably confiscate my laptop when she finds out.
EnglishRoundabout
Pretty sure Swindon did it in 2007. They retained Adams, Richardson, Ulamek, Gejdde, Chrznowski from the 2006 play off side. Once again beaten in the 2007 play off final. Shirl
I'm not sure who has done it before but the fact they have named an unchanged top 5 is highly commendable. Full marks to the management and the riders for there loyalty. Surely this will put them ahead of the game when the season starts as everyone knows each other and the management know what there getting from the riders. Well done to the Stars and fingers crossed you go one better this season
g13webb
Reflecting on Tuesday night and what Buster said about the team he referred to it as his close family. Each of the riders wanted to race for Lynn. It wasn't about money, or benefits, all the deals were quickly and easily dealt with, because all the riders wanted to be back. Buster also said he had been unindated with requests from other clubs for the riders, making him realise just how formidable Lynn could be . Niels left a message, relaying he wouldn't ride for anyone else, Kenneth saying he don't need to sign a contract and more than happy to ride for Lynn , Rory saying he belongs here, all gives the impression of togetherness and wanting to carry on, riding as a team. Porsing and Kerr were there too and showed the same team spirit that obviously is very strong. Yeah, cause I'm bias towards Lynn, but isn't it refreshing to hear good things about the sport and exciting plans for the future, instead of clubs struggling to survive or riders with-holding their services for late payments. It just shows, success can be achieved if the club is run properly....... I'd like to say: Well done to Buster and Co
