John Leslie
You are 100% wrong about Scunthorpe. I never mentioned Buxton. You were responding to my post about the points limit being too high last year leaving Buxton and Scunthorpe stuffed with uncompetitive teams. You can't come back and say "I never mentioned Buxton" just because it doesn't suit your argument.
cityrebel
No lakeside or leicester in the trophy next season, which is a shame. The hammers have gone from running in the league to nothing at all.
britmet
Good to see league winners will be champions. Delighted that teams have to name No 8 to give experience, something that should apply across all 3 leagues IMO. Endorsed. Table-toppers should be League Champions, - which i've said on here ~4 years ago, - and if the promotion wanted a big end-of-season meeting, call it the KO Cup. (Okay, so there'll be a Gold Cup and a KO Cup, the title is irrelevant.) . Now it needs the other 2 leagues to see and apply the same sense that the NL has done. Why can't they do without Play-offs? They can still have a big end to the season, - ? ? Well done the Nat'l Lge !

Mimmo
It appears to have been a good sensible AGM, and I agree with peoples comments about the 'Gold Cup' being pointless. It's great to see a league deciding that whoever tops the table will be crowned champions instead of all this play-off nonsense. I just can't wait for the season to get underway, and start my visits to places like Buxton again, in support of the 'Young Stars'.

Quite obvious why the NL have ditched the play off...simple not enough dates...2 clubs racing on one track with one race night,Rye house track sharing with the rockets, plus len running a British semi i guess and NLRC...Kings Lynn share a track...as do Coventry....simple isnt enough dates to do it!! Do we get to see three 3 rider races? How many times will Lane Cuppit travel 100+ miles, change into his leathers, watch the meeting and then get changed again without having turned a wheel? Star Lady
So what happens if a team turns up with no number 8? Do we get to see three 3 rider races? How many times will Lane Cuppit travel 100+ miles, change into his leathers, watch the meeting and then get changed again without having turned a wheel? Can you get anymore negative? I appreciate it's not ideal but there have to be ways and means. I don't think it necessarily means the same rider named for every meeting, can't they share vans, use a rack on the back of a car (it was good enough for Collins/Betts et al). But it is precisely because people fail to ask such basic questions that we end up with so many unworkable rules. Any new rule needs to stand three basic tests: 1) what is it intended to achieve? 2) how does the rule change meet that objective? 3) what are the unintended consequences? I know the answer to number one, but this proposal falls miserably short on the other two.
Tsunami
So what happens if a team turns up with no number 8? Do we get to see three 3 rider races? How many times will Lane Cuppit travel 100+ miles, change into his leathers, watch the meeting and then get changed again without having turned a wheel? For exactly that reason, and the cost of it, that is why EL and PL teams don't take Number 8's away. Shouldn't be a problem if a home junior is made available without the excess cost. Also a chance for the junior to show if he is ready for a team spot.
arnieg
So what happens if the visiting number one is taken ill en route and the home team can't or won't provide a number 8?

junior fan
Personally looking from the outside I think they have gone the wrong way by lowering the points limit. With more stand alone clubs you are providing a weaker product , potentially two maybe three decent riders the rest , not so. Not sure how many people supporting clubs that only a year ago were in the EL will be tempted to come along. Junior
