Jayne
The number 8 doesn't have to be at all the meetings they are named in a teams declaration and are available for anyone to use if they are short of a reserve. It has replaced 'the emergency riders listing' which never really worked and had very few if any riders on it!!!
Brummie Kev
Pretty Pleased with the AGM, nice of them to accept us into the league . The points limit is about what I expected given the additions to the league and I think scrapping of the play-offs to decide the champions is fantastic. We had it at the Brummies in 2012, great season finished top of the league but lost in the play-offs to Poole. It was a disgrace we never got any recognition for finishing top, at least now we are in a league that has the table toppers as champions, and still a play-off system in place for an addition competition for the 2nd/3rd/4th place teams. I just wish they would tweek the race format a bit and include another reserve race as I feel it would work in the NL. Many of the riders at reserve are fairly new to the sport and it would be beneficial to them get get a second race against riders of similar calibre. Lets hope the EL and PL follow in the NL footsteps by scrapping the play-offs to decide the champions next year
Countershaftcounter
Now that Adam Ellis hasn't secured a PL spot at Ipswich, I'd travel from Norfolk to watch him if he secured a NL ride

That seems like a reasonable proposal (seems like a case of Chinese whispers - we read different things into the headline proposal and ended up debating something different!) Sings4Speedway
Does anyone have a list of the 20-30 three point riders they are going to have to find? Check the MDL threads. The season end averages were there listing loads of potential riders. Obviously ignore the likes of Ayres, Bacon Kinsley etc who have already secured team places but there is plenty of potential in there. Anyone who has done at least 10-15 meetings last year shows they are prepared to travel. And if Layne doesn't get a team place this year after the miles he covered in the MDL it makes me wonder where the sport is headed.

TMW
Quite obvious why the NL have ditched the play off...simple not enough dates...2 clubs racing on one track with one race night,Rye house track sharing with the rockets, plus len running a British semi i guess and NLRC...Kings Lynn share a track...as do Coventry....simple isnt enough dates to do it!! Well if they are in the Gold Cup. They will have to...
teaboy279
I think with such a low points limit whoever secures Ellis Perks will go along way to winning the league. Probably as good a 3 point average rider as Adam Ellis was in 2013
lucifer sam
Points limits seems about right. I think Mr Morrish looked in the discussion that Greyhoundp and myself had around a month ago.... we decided on 36 and 30 as well All the best Rob

Islander15
Proably when it was 3 home 3 away but since the 4 matches regardless it does make it more difficult But the art of having a successful team is improving your average and who's better placed than Perks to do that? TMW
But the art of having a successful team is improving your average and who's better placed than Perks to do that? Sorry. I thought you meant in the 'ringer reserve' sense but yes any rider has it in them to just take off but he looks a good prospect.
montie
Well if they are in the Gold Cup. They will have to... Cold Cup will be Birmingham one and Birningham two,Mildenhall and kent cant see it being any other clubs involved honestly Lynn my be there or of there abouts i hope Is Len running Double headers? I think with such a low points limit whoever secures Ellis Perks will go along way to winning the league. Probably as good a 3 point average rider as Adam Ellis was in 2013 Dont think there will be much doubt where Perks will end up really!!!! When the Gold Cup WILL HAVE to be staged. Edited December 10, 2014 by TMW
Alan_Jones
Is Len running Double headers? He is. First match is due to be on the early May Bank Holiday Saturday with the second as part of a double header on the Monday.

Hunty
As they say money talks so fully expect to see him in green and white. Im pretty sure there is a Limit on £ per points, so if a couple of clubs are willing to stump up some money he could end up anywhere! The addition to being with the Heathens is sponsership deals riders can get, the fans 50/50 is £150 to the winner and £150 to the riders each home meeting! So there are alot of benifits to being at the Heathens but what the club provides could be the same as what Brum provides!
