Fancy A Quiz?

Recommended Posts

It's nearly time for the annual NSSC Christmas Quiz!

Next Tuesday, 9th December for a prompt 8pm start. There will also be a bumper raffle and nibbles on the tables. Teams of four at £3 per person. Don't worry if you haven't got a team just come along and enjoy the night. As usual the target is to beat the team of referees!

http://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/

To get you in the mood here are some speedway questions from a past quiz.

Notable years in speedway;

In which year did the Grand Prix series replace the one off World final?

When was the last Wembley World final?

When were play-offs introduced to the Elite League?

When was the first Cardiff GP?

When did England/GB last win the World Team Cup?

When were Bradford the first Elite League champions?

There's plenty more if you'd like some.

I invited a jehovah's witness in the other day

Sat him down with a cup of coffe ,and asked what he wanted to talk about

he said I dont know I've never got this far before.

I got a Jehovah's Witness advent calendar.

It got to 1st December, I opened the first door...and there were two of them standing there.

Well. I didn't expect this thread to go down the Jehovah's Witness route.....

Anyway, well done Scottyfan, all correct.

Trying to keep it on track how about these past questions. "Who am I" (They all raced for Coventry).

I was the 1999 World Under 21 Champion

We are father and son and were both born in Prague

I was born in Stockholm in 1980 and was part of a Championship winning Coventry team

I am American and I won the World Championship when I was riding for the Bees

I am the only Australian World champion to ride for the Bees

I was a British Grand Prix winner but not Greg Hancock, Chris Harris or Emil Sayfutdinov

I am from California and enjoyed a testimonial in 1992

I was a World Team Cup winner with Great Britain in 1968

I was born in Uzbekistan in 1973.

Questions are a bit easy, aren't they?

Got any difficult ones?

All the best

Rob

Got to cater for everybody. If all very hard speedway questions you'd only get a handful of teams turning up.

Are these a bit tougher? Who were the World Speedway champions in the years of these events;

The year that Tony Blair was first elected as Prime Minister

The year that England won the FIFA World Cup

The year of the Queens Silver Jubilee

The year that Coventry City won the FA Cup

The year that Barack Obama became the President of America for the first time

The year that President Kennedy was assassinated

The year that Band Aid's 'Do they know its Christmas' was no.1 for the first time

The event known only as 9/11

The year of the Sydney Olympics

The year of the death of George VI

That's more of a challenge.

I'm going for:

Greg Hancock

Barry Briggs

Ivan Mauger

Hans Nielsen

Nicki Pedersen

Ove Fundin

Erik Gundersen

Tony Rickardsson

Mark Loram

Jack Young

All the best
