How On Earth To They Manage To Give Riders Stupid Averages

Recommended Posts

palm toft has rode workington very well in the past so i would think the promotors are looking at him as a 7 to 8 point rider at home and hope he scores a few away

hes more than capable of getting double figures at derwent park on his previous form

and riders only drop back down on old average if they only do 1 year in the eliete league it a sort of back up plan if stepping up dosnt work out for them

If stepping up doesnt work out then they wouldnt have an average that is as over inflated.

If they get a higher average its because it has worked out and they have been better than previous seasons.

3 pages of people arguing over a rule that exists. Yet when a club actually breaks a rule, most people ignore it and call one or two of us who point it out trouble makers and tell us to get over it.

Fair point SCB. :t::approve:

So who is to blame is it the promoters that don't want a rider the following season that has done well in the EL and then they find they can't fit them in their team averages or the points average for the leagues.

Why should a rider who has done well after going up to the EL have to drop down again the next year again because noone wants him to ride for them because the average his attained the season before. If that is not a stuppid rule then what else is it.

I suggested years ago that the BSPA issues GSA with calculated averages (on an agreed conversion 0.6, 0.4 or whatever) that shows a riders average not only for the league he was riding in but a conversion for another league if eligible to ride in it.

That way everyone would know exactly where they were and averages wouldn't be the minefield it currently is

It is time they sorted theirselves out and managed to get some sort of simple rule to solve the problems they seem to be having with riders averages.

Could be that it is a little bit above them all to sit around the table and then come to an easy solution.

If they can't manage to do that then they should get someone in to do the job, who has an idea of how the sport should be run.

Because at present I am afraid that none of them seem to know, what they are doing. With someone taking over the reigns, then maybe the sport will get back on track, It needs an independant person or persons, to take over and make the sport come into this century, instead of a group made up of team promoters and owners, who make the rules to suit, how they want the sport to be run.

This one is simple. A rider who moves into the EL can move back to the PL the following season on his old PL average. Just because a few simpletons don't get it doesn't make it confusing, or hard or anything else bad.

Speedway doesn't have many rules, what it has is people who chose to ignore them or people who make mistakes. That then leads to confusion. Now you could put an independent person in charge, let them make all the rules but if a club reads the rule book and make a singing based on it and then find out they read the rule wrong, what has changed from now?
