Alex2000
Completely agree. If anything the meeting needs more 3 pointers to give the lads a confidence boost? Perhaps I am just being overly negative and suspect I have been for some time. My love for the sport isn't fading but bizarre decisions and actions by Kent over the winter / start of the season have left me questioning when and where I choose to visit...... Come to Eastbourne
Islander15
Think he is a friend of the Baseby's so has eased himself in the door however if he turns in a decent performance he may be in with a shout if changes are to be made? Does he still have an average? and if so anybody know if it would fit? He averaged 3.68 for Sittingbourne. He did come back the next season and rode a few meetings but got seriously injured and I can't remember if it was enough to get a real average of 3.00 or he's still 3.68. Edit: I've tried looking it up and the BSPA site has him ending 2009 still on his 3.68 average in the team declaration but he may have dropped to 3.00 and the team just not redeclared after that I suppose. I've found him riding officially in 5 league meetings that year and 4 trophy meetings. But he did ride a few meetings the season after for Plymouth but as he didn't end the season it's as if he didn't exist on the BSPA site, as this is back in the days of the NL not having published greensheets! Sings4Speedway
Dan Berwick might not fit anyway then. I will be taking in a few Eastbourne meetings this year especially as Sunday is a far more amiable day ditto Mildenhall if the track gets sorted. As for Kent I think I will definitely be more choosy this season. The whole set up this year seems pretty half @rsed.

waco
The line up for the pairs is very poor and the organisers seem to want Danny Ayers to win as his pairing with Brendon Johnson looks far stronger than any other pairing,,Can only visualise a poor turnout for this. Still the Danny Ayers victory cellebrations should be worth the entry fee alone ,But i do not expect great racing...

Sings4Speedway
Good efforts Islander. So as it currently stands his average is either 3.00 or 3.68 or somewhere in between and even the BSPA may not know. It may not matter though? Do I remember somewhere that your average gets re-set to 3.00 if you haven't ridden for 5 years? Although if that is the case it wouldn't be re-set until the end of this season?

Rebel1
Come to Eastbourne Sadly you make the offer, surely supporting a team means through thick and thin, not looking for the nearest winning team! Anyway with such strength in depth are you not going to be witnessing follow-my-leader racing as well?

Yes support through thick and thin but how long would you support them if there was no change?
waco
It must be a bit worrying for the promotion that the long tail in the team may cause the excellent support received so far at Kent could cause a drop in attendances.. In my opinion while the riders concerned will need time to improve ,,How much time can be afforded them ,Without the inevitable happening ? teaboy279
I think you should earmark one rider in my opinion Jamie couzins as someone to develop over the season as he is a raw talent with very little experience. Danno and Adam have a bit more experience so less time should be given.
Sings4Speedway
Credit where its due to Adam. He seems to be putting himself about and getting as many rides in as he can MDL, Eastbourne meeting etc and the more time on a bike the better. It is hard to judge the bottom 3 when they have only ridden against one of the best bottom 3's in the league. There will be easier tests to come and its how they perform in these that determines what judgement is to be made. Adam & Danno should have the edge over Jamie regarding experience of the away tracks however its the home performances that keep fans happy.
teaboy279
At the bare minimum you need to give a rider a month or so to establish themselves.

You don't want to be saying oh we are beating the easy bottom 3s in the league. You want to be saying that you can beat our bottom 3 at Eastbourne they need to be good not just beating the nobody's! Sings4Speedway
I will say whatever I choose to I will be more than happy to see the bottom 3 progress to mix it with most teams this season. Eastbourne are the exception to the rule and I am not unrealistic. Kelsey has probably done thousands of laps of Arlington over the years, Georgie is a National Champion on the grass and clearly a natural motorcycling talent. Richard is the signing of the season given his current performances vs his average. If Kent can get themselves into a competitive side home and away and are not haemorrhaging points from lower order I will be happy-ish. Alex2000
I guess you are right about Georgie and Kelsey but just thought that you would be more optimistic than you sounded! Edited April 13, 2015 by Alex2000
