Main Man
COVENTRY Storm go into their biggest meeting yet on Wednesday as they host the second leg of the National League Grand Final (7.30pm).The City Gearboxes Storm are just ten points down from the first leg against powerhouse local rivals Cradley, having emerged from Monmore Green last week with the Championship still very much there to be won.Four riders from each team were in action at Brandon last weekend, in which the Storm finished ahead of the Heathens in the group stages of the National League Fours before missing out in the Final. It’s back to seven-man, 15-heat competition for the biggest prize, and Coventry remain the only team to have taken a win over Cradley over the regular format this season. With Oliver Greenwood ruled out for the final month of the campaign – he crashed in the KO Cup tie between the clubs in late-September – Kent’s Simon Lambert continues as a guest at No.1 for the Storm.Cradley are also without their top-averaged rider, as Steve Worrall broke a wrist in the first leg of the Final, and the Heathens will either use a guest or the rider-replacement facility to cover his rides. They still include several other potential No.1s, and there should be some fascinating battles at both top and bottom of each team before the destination of the silverware is decided.Coventry manager Laurence Rogers said: “This is the big one for our boys, up against our arch-rivals, and ten points is a margin we can pull back.“It’s the last chance to see some speedway this year and we want plenty of noise from the supporters. It’s a big Final, so if you haven’t been to watch the Storm boys before, please come along and cheer us on.“The lads have been a joy to work with this year, along with Adam Roynon as team coach, and they really want to do it on Wednesday.”Admission prices are £12 for adults with all children free.COVENTRY (from): Dan Greenwood, Martin Knuckey, Simon Lambert, Stefan Nielsen, Luke Priest, James Sarjeant, Ryan Terry-Daley.CRADLEY (from): Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves, Tom Perry, Danny Phillips, Paul Starke, Matt Williamson, Steve Worrall (guest or r/r).
mdmc82
Ben Morley is guesting in place of Steve Worrall. Good luck to Coventry Storm. Know they will give it their all.
John Leslie
Why does the lineup say "From" but then only list the actual 7 riders? "From" means a squad is being named, and the actual starting line-up with be chosen "from" those squad members. This applies in football not speedway - we don't have squads to pick from. I'm told from facebook that Ben Morley is guesting at No.1 for Cradley. So the line-ups actually are Lambert (guest for O Greenwood), Priest, Nielsen, D Greenwood, Sarjeant, Terry-Daley, Knuckey Morley (guest for Worrall), Greaves, Clegg, Perry, Starke, Williamson, Phillips.

I think Coventry do this to boost program sales, but the Team line ups are on the BSPA site anyway, and are as you printed.
Gemini
Pity I'm not going as I would have been able to print the perfect programme tonight.
John Leslie
So when it says "from" it doesn't mean "from" at all.... It just means "These are the riders, but in the wrong order because we're sad cases ike that"?
Dave Jones
Pity I'm not going as I would have been able to print the perfect programme tonight. Just think you could have added a few word puzzles on the reverse side, to keep you occupied during the long delays while all the various problems that are now a regular feature at brandon get sorted. So when it says "from" it doesn't mean "from" at all.... It just means "These are the riders, but in the wrong order because we're sad cases ike that"? berniev123
Sitting here in Heathens land and pondering if to go or not due to adverse weather indications for Speedway on the BBC. What is the weather like in Bees/Storm land?

full-throttle
woke up to rain, it cleared, had some drizzle for about half an hour, the ground is damp, but i for one cannot see any reason that the meeting shouldn't be on. still a few hours to go before fans travel, if the weather changes for the worst i'll update. unfortunately this season it hasn't always been down to the weather if the meeting went ahead or not
mdmc82
Been drizzling last couple of hours but nothing heavy. Ground bit wet.
lucifer sam
Decided against this meeting. Even if Coventry do get it on, I have no confidence in them being able to prepare a half-decent racetrack in wet conditions.... in fact, they can't do that when it's dry. All the best Rob

flagrag
With the news to be confirmed later today I would say its advantage Cradley in this meeting. I just hope the M6 and M69 is clear of traffic tomorrow night for the fans.
NeilWatson
COVENTRY’S home leg of the National League Grand Final against Cradley on Friday will now take place AT LEICESTER (7.30pm). The club have been informed that Brandon Stadium is no longer available as the staging venue for this meeting due to preparations for Saturday’s Stock Car event. An alternative venue has therefore been sourced as it was felt this was a far more preferable option than to simply concede the tie. Coventry Speedway wish to thank Leicester promoter David Hemsley and his staff for their co-operation in allowing the use of the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium for this important meeting, as well as the Cradley management for their agreement to the change. The City Gearboxes Storm trail the Heathens by just ten points going into the second leg of their National League title-deciding clash. We acknowledge the circumstances are far from ideal but we hope as many supporters as possible will be able to make the trip to Leicester to back the Storm on Friday. Admission: Adults £12, Children Free. Programme: £2.
