Guest
What actual years did the Chiswick Nomads compete in their away challenge matches. I think it was the late 1950s. They had a training track somewhere near Chiswick Bridge in south west London. Their riders included Roy Pickering, Dave Freeborn, Bob Thomas, Arthur Ashby and - sometimes - "their boss" Ted Payne. Guest
Another Chiswick Nomads rider was Harry Emery - "a graduate" as I recall from the BAOR tracks in Germany. I think he was possible also at one-time a mechanic-cum-pits helper in the great days of Wembley. Edited October 30, 2014 by Guest
ColinAshby
My Dad Arthur Ashby rode for Chiswick Nomads as well as Aldershot and Wimbledon Reserves.
