Very good signing, maybe won't score big at first, but should hit his average at least by the end of the season!

1. Craig Cook (9.19)

2. Erik Riss (5.00)

3. Kevin Wolbert (6.19)

4. Justin Sedgmen (6.99)

5. Sam Masters (8.23)

6. Max Clegg (3.00)

7. Robert Branford (3.00)

Total: 41.60 (0.90 left)

Ah but are we sure he is a 5 point average and not a 7? (sticks wooden spoon very firmly back in pocket and runs away as fast as she can.... :P )

That's a decent signing on a 5pt av,pulled another one out of the hat again IMO

Just like fox was a great signing. Lot to prove just because he is good at long track doesn't mean he will be good in PL

Might be ok at the big tracks like worky Berwick Sheffield but I would imagine he will take a long time to figure Armadale out if he can at all, big risk IMO

Might be a risk, but find a better rider with what they had left? They could of signed an Aarnio like rider, but you wont see any progression, and wont become your asset, this way, becomes an asset, and COULD improve on that average, so I don't see it as a risk signing, I'd be excited.

Matt Wethers, guaranteed to hit/improve on his average back at Armadale.

The Monarchs could have an awfully long tail this season. Can see one of the 3 pointers getting binned once Riss gets a new average.

On the website he is quoted as saying he actually doesn't mind smaller tracks, so hopefully he has a smaller track he practices on aswell.

Will be interesting to see how the lad copes with the track at Armadale, its going to be very much a culture shock for him.

Have to agree with you it is a big risk taking him on.

The promotion have a good track record when it comes to bringing in assessed riders than most in the league. To win the World long track championship at just the age of 18 speaks volumes as to the talent the lad has.

just because he does longtrack doesn't mean he can't ride armadale look a people like Franc, Kylmakorpi, Pijper, Smolinski all riders that can do pretty well round smaller tracks. If he can scores more away from home than at home thats fine as we have riders at home that can cover for him easily.

At the end of the day it could go either way he could turn out to be another Dilger or be a Wolbert! If he turns out to be Dilger changes could be made very quickly if he is a Wolbert we are laughing our way to another league title! :approve:

You may have a point there!

Suppose we will see come march if he is still going straight when everyone else turns left into bend 1!

There is an element of risk, but Edinburgh get more things right than they get wrong and I'd rather take a chance on this guy than take the safe route with the old familiar names around this average who aren't going to improve any. If it doesn't work out its not the end of the world. If it does work, he could be a major success and he'd be an Edinburgh asset.

It's a calculated risk I'd say. You need to take risks sometimes.

He's young enough to adapt I reckon.

Watched him in the junior Golden Helmet,a risk worth taking he can turn left when he reaches a corner I'm sure,I would imagine his equipment will be top notch for 5 pt "rookie".Fox done the job he was brought in for(kept a good rider in reserve for most of the season).the Edinburgh Promotion are smarter than most with their Team building as results show.
