stevenl049
Why do Barker, King, Stead and Kennet not get the same crap Cookie gets for riding in the premier league!?! Baffles me, that!
SCB
Why do Barker, King, Stead and Kennet not get the same crap Cookie gets for riding in the premier league!?! Baffles me, that! Because they have, with the exception of Barker, all ridden abroad at some time. And they're not good enough, Cook is and it's frustrating to see him lingering in the PL when he could be in the Poland and Swedish EL's - Kennett, Stead and King are not going to make much of an impact over there as they have proved in the past. Better to have tried and failed.....

SCB
and you know for sure he dosnt want to ride poland from what i was told from a member of his own family he was trying to get a ride in poland So he shares my frustration then, or I do his depending on your take on it. How does it make me wrong if he thinks the same? Surely you can see it would be good for his career and progression to be riding abroad? So why is it anyone who says that is classed as some sort of knocker. Surely the bad people are those happy for him to be in the PL and never achieve his potential
Gavan
Why do Barker, King, Stead and Kennet not get the same crap Cookie gets for riding in the premier league!?! Baffles me, that! well look a bit deeper into it then. with the exception of Barker the others all have ridden abroad. And Barker has not been as good as Cook. The others tried and failed and as of yet Cook hasnt tried. ok so maybe he is trying to ride out there but failing. Then he needs to ask himself why. Effectively he is British number 4 yet cant get a ride in Poland. Do they deem him not good enough? Or is he not marketing himself properly? Nobody is knocking the guy for riding Premier to earn money. But lets face it his career has stalled , he isnt getting any younger, and he may be left thinking what if
Mr Blobby
So many Criag Cook experts on here! Why don't one of you become his manager and help him get a place abroad i'm sure it will be gratefully appreciated. Anyway back on topic would like us to get Michael Hartel as our final signing doing very well in Germany and was impressive in the best pairs were he got a couple of 3rd places and still only 19 years of age. Is Hartel 19? This website says 16 - http://www.speedweek.com/steckbrief/15961/Michael-Haertel.html And an article suggests he will stay in full time education for a while yet. Well in that case even better prospect than i first thought Edited December 15, 2014 by Mr Blobby

Nothing to do with being an expert its an opinion. If Cook gets to elite league heat leader averaging over 8, gets to the gp challenge, then i will admit i was wrong. My OPINION is he wont do either meaning his career has levelled out
Cupidstunt
cannot see why everybody got a problem with cookie he's a top rider in PL pushing to be a EL heat leader think the lad should get a break, and I'm a berwick fan!!! Why don't one of you become his manager and help him get a place abroad i'm sure it will be gratefully appreciated. Or alternatively, why don't you try contributing to the Cook debate instead of trying to be a defensive clever dick People aren't really knocking the guy, they want to see him be as good as he can be. SCB has articulated it perfectly, and as he says the likes of Kennett, King, Stead, Barker etc have proved that they've all reached their level. Cook is better than all of them IMO and could get even better in the correct surroundings. This really isn't an anti Cook/Edinburgh/PL thing. Honestly. semion
Amazing that a rider of Cook's ability still wants the easy pickings ( for me) that the Premier League offers. SDurely time he went abroad and tesed himself to see if he has what it takes.

He might have tried and all these past Brits have failed on the continent Kennett, King and the like so why would a team on the continent take a risk on him considering that bringing in a Brit has rarely worked in the past I'm not a massive Cookie fan but I can understand why he is back in the PL and I can understand why people are frustrated that he isn't riding on the continent but I would say it's probably more down to teams not wanting to take a risk on him rather than him not trying. Mr Blobby
What part of he hasn't been able to get a deal do people not understand??? Fair enough if he hasn't tried to get a team place in Poland or Sweden but he has and hasn't been able to get one for one reason or another! Due to him not getting a deal abroad and there not being enough meetings in the EL to make a living he has to ride the PL to make one what part of that do people not understand!!!
ekimba
Hate to ask this question but is there not 28 matches in the EL this season, the same as PL ?

SDurely time he went abroad and tesed himself to see if he has what it takes. At least he will get paid for riding Pl for Monarchs, abroad is dodgy regarding money on time if even the amount that was promised .I do think that is as good as he is going to get though. He will make enough money riding in UK.I believe Barker had a contract to ride in Poland last year but only did 1meeting don't know if this was entirely due to injuries ,but think he has been signed up again this year. Lewis Bridger went out and did it and he isnt in Cooks class. i think Cook is happy doing what he is doing over here but he isnt giving himself the opportunity to be the best he can. As ive said if he becomes British Champ this season, or makes the gp's i will eat humble pie but i feel he has reached his maximum
