f-s-p
Janne Vilponen will replace Tomi Tani. Good.  But interesting, since it was a federation press release that I used as a source and it clearly stated that Järf will be the only Finn.

DutchGrasstrack
The challenge in Sankt Johann is cancelled (third year in a row). The FIM will now determine the riders for this years GP series. Official press release should follow tomorrow I've been told.
customhouseregular
Is their not a case for qualifiers and the Challenge being held on indoor tracks...they only need to find 2 or 3.
iris123
Is their not a case for qualifiers and the Challenge being held on indoor tracks...they only need to find 2 or 3. Sounds easy.Obviously isn't.Trouble is,most indoor tracks are used for speed skating(even Berlin which is outdoors)and we are in the speed skating season........generally the tracks are only given over to Ice Speedway after their season has finished at each track, which is why the ice season in Western Europe only really starts at the end of february and finishes a few weeks later.A few years ago when i was in Dresden(which is also an artificial outdoor track) the temps were over 20°+!!!! DutchGrasstrack
As expected the FIM did not have a backup plan and decide to nominate the lineup. They published it today:1. Ghostwalker
So where's the controversy regarding the picks? They okay?  Daniel Henderson said to Smederna.nu that he was disappointed to not getting a pick since a few of those who got picked finished after him at Strömsund. http://www1.idrottonline.se/SmedernaSpeedwayforening-MotorcykelochSnoskoter/Nyheter/Nyhetsarkiv/BesvikenHendersonreservtillVM/  I can understand his point but I have no opinion on the actual matter. DutchGrasstrack
It's not fair they only gave Antonin Klatovsky the first reserve spot, and then included Weber, Jarf and Stellingwerf which all three scored a lower result then the Czech rider. Â But I think that Klabo will ride anyway in the first few GP's as I don't think that Koltakov will be ready.
f-s-p
Four Germans is quite a lot. When it went to nominations, Järf was certain to get in. It's about countries represented as well. He might have (very likely) qualified from the Challenge too.
DutchGrasstrack
Stellingwerf will not ride in the GP's unfortunatly. He will probably be replaced by Antonin Klatovsky.
iris123
Stellingwerf is only in because of nationality anyway.Klabo is shall we say a bit colourful in his riding and seems to be losing form over the past few seasons, but is a better rider. So that is an improvement, rider wise at least
f-s-p
So according to twitter stellingwerf will decline his place in the gp but will ride in Assen.

Spoke with Seppänen yesterday in an official capacity. St Johann is currently the only club interested(/that has applied) in hosting the Challenge, so there really is a limited amount of options for FIM who to give it to.
