Sherif Ice Speedway World have some great videos on youtube, mainly from Russia including the recent Team championships. Well worth a look.

Hallstavik moved to Strömsund, date will probably be the same (17.01).

A link to confirm it: http://www.rospiggarna.nu/vm-kval-isracing-i-hallstavik-flyttat/

An article about it: http://norrteljetidning.se/sport/1.2788166-vadret-besegrade-rospiggarna

Russian federation is not amused that the Russian championship is not realy a qualifier for the Ice GP's anymore. FIM nominated Kononov and Makarov already for Sankt Johann (and Ivanov, Koltakov, Khomitsevich for the GP's).

Real reason below

Here's by the way the lineup for Stromsund:

1. Niclas Kallin Svensson (SE)
2. Max Niedermaier (DE)
3. Franz Zorn (AT)
4. Antonin Klatovsky (CZ)
5. Miroslaw Daniszewski (PL)
6. René Stellingwerf (NL)
7. Jo Saetre (NO)
8. Ove Ledström (SE)
9. Hans Weber (DE)
10. Charly Ebner jr (AT)
11. Daniel Henderson (SE)
12. Tomi Tani (FI)
13. Markus Birn (CH)
14. Vitaly Khomitsevich (RU)
15. Jimmy Olsen (SE)
16. Mats Järf (FI)
--
17. Mikael Flodin (SE)
18. Robert Henderson (SE)

Not easy to predict the top 8, very strong lineup.

According to a diffrent Russian source it appears that the Russian federation believes they can replace Makarov for a other Russian rider because he can't ride (health problems). Surely this does not work this way IMO.

It's a difficult situation, if it goes like you said: FIM has nominated a Russian RIDER, not an FMN seed like in other disciplines.

If it were a FMN seed, there would be no problem. Thats not apparently the case though.

I think they have to go down the 2014 standings to find a replacement for Makarov.

FIM updated the Sankt Johann regulations, not sure what changed by they seem to believe that it will still go ahead I guess. Weather forcast looks so-so to me.
