Not surprisingly, there are concerns regarding the weather for Word championship qualifier at Hallstavik.

Just like last year November and December (so far) have had a very "warm" weather which means that

no natural ice can form.

The long time forecast predicts the current type of weather with temps a few degrees above 0 to continue for the 10 days of the forecast.

They are riding speedway tonight at Hallstavik. Three weeks from now, ice racing quali. By the pics on twitter today, no such luck.

No unless there is an unexpected major weather change the nearest week to much colder weather, there is no chance

that the competition will be able to go ahead. The weather forecast for the next 10 days says mostly temperatures above 0

with both rain and sun. http://www.smhi.se/vadret/vadret-i-sverige/land/hourByHourTable.do?endtime=2014-12-23+22%3A59%3A00&starttime=2014-12-14+16%3A00%3A00&geonameid=2708426

With Aakko out its most likely Tani and Järf. I have a source saying Järf really wants it and is prepared and backed, the other one saying not prepared enough. We'll see.

Tani's goal was to get in the series this year, he said himself it all came a year early last winter.

EDIT: Actually I have a federation press release saying those are the two names for the quali. Tomi Norola was third in the training camp meeting, perhaps he's the next in line if there are drop outs.

Winter hasn't realy arrived yet in middle Europe with both international meetings in Steingaden and Weissenbach cancelled. They hope to run Weissenbach on 17 or 18 january though.

Swedish racing starts on sunday with the traditional Santa Cup including all the top Swedes but also Franky Zorn.

Winter has arrived, just a bit too late.We had snow here yesterday and the cars are all frozen today.(-1° outside just now)......and it is even colder down south, but like i say........too late and it is getting warmer again in a few days time

Quick look at Alpenpanorama just now and the temps in 4 places in Austria were -9,-10,-11 and -13,but in two the snow machine was busy making new snow

A bit odd (and stupid and un-pro IMO) that the FIM has changed the draw for this meeting from the first one released. First time I've noticed such in the almost ten years I've followed.

EDIT: My faith in the system has been restored, since the SR for the said meeting clearly states SML has numbers 12 and 16. So it's apparently a copypasted mistake from an interner source,
