If you had read some previous posts and quotes, you would know he has already failed in an appeal from a judge.

I know - but he is still trying to get an Appeal against his conviction.

ame="The White Knight" post="2544315" timestamp="1416595254"]I notice you do not mention the Appeal that is proceeding........................................[/quote

That's because an appeal is not proceeding. He doesn't even have permission to appeal at this stage. He has twice applied for permission to appeal and both times his application was refused because the grounds of appeal were inadequate.

There are plenty of people in prison waiting for appeals to be heard (including the two men convicted of killing Lee Rigby) but unless and until their convictions are overturned by the Court of Appeal , they stand all stand and guilty men.

I did not know that. Thank you for the information E I Addio.

not an appeal, but there is a criminal case review, which looks at possible miscarriges of justice...

Yes - I had forgotten about that Arson.

Thank you.

All the Criminal Case Review Commission Does does is to decide whether to refer the case back the Court of Appeal for them to consider the matter further.. The CCRC cannot overturn a conviction themselves, almost always they can only refer a case to the Court of Appeal if there is fresh evidence.

So the present position is that, the CCRC might refer it to the Court of Appeal , who might quash the conviction IF the is powerful further evidence. As I understand Evans website his girlfriend's wealthy father has hired a fresh legal team and r retired detective to try to find some more evidence, which may possibly relate to things the girl said or did after the incident, Whatever happens I think there are always suspicions, rightly or wrongly in any case when someone with a bit of money turns up and fresh witnesses suddenly appear.

So , from the point of view of Charlie Girl and anyone wishing to protest, now is the time to do it because if they wait until the CCRC make a decision, then wait for the Court of Appeal, he would be back playing anyway and impossible to dislodge so its now or never for them.

In short the whole thing is a bit of a mess for both Evans and the girl, a pair of complete idiots. I have no sympathy for either of them. There are far worse miscarriages of justice for people who have no control over the situation but unfortunately for them their stories don't sell newspapers so few people care.

And to continue with the hypocrisy shown in this thread it is quite remarkable how many who have looked to defend or support Evans went into overdrive about what should happen to Jerran Hart when he was accused of beating up a squaddie. No forgiveness there. Yet a sexual attack on a female…………………………….

What people were they ? can you name them ? if Hart had done a crime and done his time I would more that happy for him to ride speedway again after all that is how are justice system is suppose to work .

I understand that due to certain crimes people won't be able to do certain jobs but it's wonder people go back into crime if after being let out you can't work in a job you love and are good at ... And let's be honest we have got people in football who killed children while drink driving . .where are we drawing the line here ?

Is anyone saying that Evans shouldn't return to football?? Let him get a lower profile, lower league or non-league place if any club will have him, without losing sponsors, patrons or fans. He can then attempt to rebuild his career if he's any good.

Other clubs don't have to sign him, it's their choice. Perhaps they also don't believe his 'innocent' pleas, after reading the facts and noting the publics reaction to him trying to come back.

Can be no doubt that the publics reaction is key . Sheff Ute board have always back him and wanted t let him train and then play but in the end the pressure was to great for them, A problem that he is going find in most places for a while at least

Whatever the rights and the wrongs it's going to take someone with a lot of bottle to sign him .

The club was probably more biased, because of his asset value.

Yea for sure but there likely to know Evans as a person as well . You point about his value is going bring in another factor . A lower league club even non league might take him do well then sell him on for profit maybe .

You get to vote every 4 or 5 years. That's enough with your views, bias.
