Fromafar
Another ruling that needs ironing out. How far do you run into a race before you award it. IMO two laps is NOT sufficient. Lap 3-4 yes, lap two no.In certain situations you might be right but it is a Refs decision and in last nights case he was correct it was pretty blatant that Aspgren stayed on track to get race stopped .In the situation at Poole last week I also feel the Ref got it right in Frickes case as he had already been passed by BOTH Pirates before Harris knocked him off.Like I say leave it to the Ref.
Falcon Hammer
Congratulations Monarchs, unlucky Rebels Thought Summers was unlucky last night, leading Ht5 until he hit the fence L1T2; also made the gate in the first two runnings of Ht13 Ht13 was only ever going to be completed if Monarchs made the gate! - Everyone was trying to go around the outside & when Summers kept making the gate the rest came tumbling down Premier League play-off Finals are definitely the best entertainment of the year. Great stuff

Popular Post Paulco
Forget all the silly griping about who profited best from the t/r's , the best team over the season won the title . That's not taking anything away from Somerset , three play off finals ( winning one and narrowly losing out in the other two ) in succession is an astonishing record . But , sadly for us in the west , there's no denying that Edinburgh have been the stand out team this season and have deservedly won a clean sweep of team trophies .
spin king
Have to agree with the stand out team for the season winning, but the Somerset side did give them a bit a fright and took them to very last heat decider shows to me why we should keep the Play Offs.Although it does not happen every time it can produce the drama, the unexpected and the excitement that last night meeting produced. If Paul Starke had not drifted wide and allowed Fox, the title would have gone to Somerset, but Edinburgh showed what a great team they have been and are by holding their nerve and going on to claim the title. Great speedway, great drama what a pity the camera's were not there to capture the excitement.

TheScotsman
Sounds like it was a very poor show from Aspgren in heat 15. Becoming all too common nowadays. Shame - it spoils what was a great night's entertainment.

george.m
Congrats to the Monarchs. A well deserved treble. At the start of the season I called them Minions ... Well they made me eat my words. The promotion have a winning formula that runs from season to season. Who's to say they won't do the same next year and beyond. Just wish we could emulate it.

Mr Blobby
Can I ask any fans who were there? fred
Ref coukd easily have put red lights on earlier but waited till riders had completed the lap then put them straight on.
tyretrax
Love them or loathe them ,like Poole, other promotions would do well to learn from them.
Gazc
Can I ask any fans who were there? How many laps had been done when Aspgren fell? It sounds pretty obvious why Aspegren remained down i was not there but just going by what has been said by those who were it sounds like a case off going for a rerun with 3 riders which would have given the Rebels another chance off splitting the Monarchs. The ref must have saw this that way also and declared as soon as the home team crossed the line to commence the third lap with Aspegren still failing to clear the track within his right's to do this and from what i read it was the correct decision.
Young51
Can I ask any fans who were there? How many laps had been done when Aspgren fell? Pointless Asprin fell/went for a pre arranged lie down on 2nd lap..ref waited till Cook & Masters who were well in front crossed the start line for the third lap i believe (it was all a bit of a blur tbh)..then the red lights went on..then we waited..and waited and..announcement came on that the race was..AWARDED..cue pandemonium all around the ground and Monarchs were deservedly champions and treble winners.. What a night and it's only just sinking in what happened..my throat is red raw and i'm aching all over but that is why speedway is the best bar none.A superb performance by the Mighty Monarchs..and cue a smugness outbreak Commiserations to Somerset who fought hard..and respect to their riders..Nick Morris apart, who i'd better not say what i really think of him on this fine family friendly forum..he is a I'm still buzzing from what was an amazing night and will be for a while i think lol..It was such an emotional rollercoaster, but it was the right result in the end..Get in there the Blue & Gold..i'm so proud of our wonderful team Edited October 26, 2014 by Young51
SomersetBlue
I was just wondering as if it was two heats, why did the whole team have to suffer from one rider? Plus isn't an awarded race only on the last lap? Don't mean anything by this just wondering.
