foreverblue
I really can't understand why Poole fans fail to recognise just how good Kyle was last season. & he was carrying injuries when he had a couple of iffy scores. Let him be in an open draft & I'd bet that he would be the first pick of every promotor. The only logical reason for playing down his season & wanting him graded lower than 1 is so they get a better pick in the 2nd draft. Josh, Roynon & the rest might have had cause in the past to be rated higher than Kyle but that isn't the case now. There is no denying had a fantastic season just saying that other factors should be taken into account when assessing his overall standing in the list. SteveLyric2
There was a reason he refused to go in it this season, i am sure it will be no different next. He started the season quite slowly and i believe Kyle himself even said he was at risk of being dropped. Don`t recall him carrying a pre season injury. He was in real danger of being replaced, but he was also carrying an early season leg injury - from which he came back to soon, hence his iffy form which threatened his place at the time.. Tsunami
Robert Lambert declined to join the FTR draft. I think the important pick for all teams will be grade B - most of the grade A riders are similar in their abilities. Getting a good grade B will provide a better balance to the team - and hopefully provide better cover where the grade A gets injured during a meeting. That was this year. Thanks Skidder1, wasnt aware he was carrying an early season injury. Just goes to show that MF for once got it right by not replacing him for a change! Steve0
That was this year. If he was in the main body of a team - what makes you think he is eligible to be an FTR now? He made his decision last year - no going back! Edited November 22, 2014 by Steve0

proud panther
barrow boy, just feel the track at Leicester makes it hard for riders who can't gate. Looking through the riders in the 1st pot, think a few of them will be dreading getting the call from DH.
T.N.T.
EXAMPLE ONLY GRADE A RIDERS (Ranking) 1= Josh Auty 2= Lewis Kerr (KL) 3= Kyle Newman (P) 4= Jason Garrity (Cov) 5= Steve Worrall (BV) 6= Lewis Blackbird 7= Charles Wright 8= Ashley Birks 9= Adam Roynon 10= Steve Boxall Wolves and Lakeside protect Joe Jacobs and Adam Ellis in Grade B draft. Leicester pick first and choose Josh Auty Wolves then pick Lewis Blackbird Lakeside then pick Charles Weight Swindon pick Adam Roynon Ashley Birks and Steve Box all join the guest list along with James Wright, Chris Mills, Carl Wilkinson In the second pick the order would then be Swindon, Belle Vue, Coventry, Poole, Kings Lynn and finally Leicester having picked Auty (1) These are just EXAMPLES
Bagpuss
Maybe everyone will have a little chat beforehand about who they would like and a few gentlemen's agreements might be arranged. You could see things ending to something like this Leicester: Auty & Jacobs Wolves: Blackbird & Morris Belle Vue: Worrall & Starke Lakeside: Birks & Ellis Swindon: Wright & Nielsen Coventry: Garrity & Sarjeant Lynn: Kerr & Rose Poole: Newman & Bates Not saying that's what should happen but wouldn't be surprised if it did. I'd certainly accept losing one of the Lewis' for the good of the whole system. Edited November 23, 2014 by Gordon Bennett
INCOGNITO
Wolves could protect Jacobs rather than Morris but if not I think Paul Starke would be their main target in the second draft followed by Nathan Greaves who has a connection with Sam Ermolenko
A ORLOV
Are they going to have a meeting where the riders picked are announced and put out on media. Hopefully if yes this years will be organised better, as last years appeared to be a bit of a cock up, with them being mentioned in batches rather than one at a time and raising the anticipation of who is going to pick the remaining riders for any fans following on twitter etc. Edited November 23, 2014 by A ORLOV

I would hope that BSPA/Neil Vatcher issue a complete statement with all 8 pairings and the list of EL guests. weatherwatcher
I just hope for the Lions sake that David Helmsly put together a team that will be good enough this year to race in the EL. This year was the first season and he tried to get riders on a shoe string budget and at the end of the season, he realised that what he was trying to do just didn't work. Just hope that he has got enough money in the pot to bring in 5 decent riders, so far all we have heard is the signing of the young Polish rider. So we will have to just sit back, wait and see who he gets to make up the team. Hope it is not one that disapoints.
flagrag
If Leicester were to go for Auty I am sure that they would protect Josh Bates so they know who they are getting without being left with limited choice for 2nd reserve. As I have said previously I would be very surprised if they go for Auty with more likely to be Wright or Birks but Ashley could be ruled out if they go for Stead and Bates

Presumably they could retain first pick of grade A only if Bates were eighth or lower on the B list? If Bates were say fourth (unlikely) Leicester should have fifth pick of grade A, not first.
