SteveLyric2
not really because auty, birks, roynon, newman, kerr, garrity, worrall, blackbird are all at the same level as each other really so i wouldnt say poole/lynn would have an advantage at all. Surely there's a chance that some of those may be offered a full team place??!!
MrMungo
So what is the actual criteria for being an Grade A rider? Where's the line? Â There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the names mentioned earlier at all. If Auty, Kerr, Blackbird, Garrity, S Worrall are all in it, then why not Richie Worrall (lower average than his brother!), Howarth (lower PL average than most mentioned) Boxall (lower average than many, and younger than several aswell), Bowen and so on. Â If all of those are included, then you're just going to squeeze out the guys like Clegg, Greenwoods, Greaves et al, the guys who the draft was actually meant for. Not according to cook though? thought auty and the like were all being added to the group. would be pointless to take away newman, kerr, worrall etc just to add auty, birks, roynon would happily take kerr and boxall at lynn mind, although i doubt boxall will be apart of it. Hopefully a few teams will choose to offer PL places to that band of riders anyway.

pointsmeanplayoffs
Wanting to keep the 2014 FTD riders at reserve for the 2015 season may be part of the reason behind the rumoured 'Only 2 riders over 7.00' rule. Â The 'only 2 over 7.00' rule would stop a team having three 9.00 heat leaders and then have 2 ex-FTD riders (on 3.00 Ass Av.) in the second string. Â We need to ensure there are enough top riders to go around AND don't harm any of the younger lads progression by chucking them in to the main body too early especially when the heat format is being altered where probably the 2nd strings will get tougher heats this season. There is no way any of the 2014 Fast Track reserves will go into a 1-5 on an assessed 3 point average. They will either use their PL average (converted) or come up with a % formula to convert their actual Fast track average!! Â PS. Still nobody has shown me where the 'only 2 over 7.00' has been confirmed officially!!!!

Crazy robin
Only 8 needed, although obviously will be more on the list due to injuries etc.  nielsen rose starke saerjent ellis morris bates jacobs  theres another 8 just there. throw in charles wright if hes interested as well. No way should Charles Wright be in the 2nd group & guess those riders you list will be chuffed at getting only 3 rides in most meetings. proud panther
Now that the top group of ftd reserves are all about the same ability, will they be able to negotiate the best financial deal they can with any of the teams, or be forced to ride where picked for £40 a point ? T.N.T.
EXAMPLE ONLY  Grade A Kyle Newman (Poole), Jason Garrity, Lewis Kerr (KL), Steve Worrall (BV), Charles Wright, Paul Starke, Josh Auty, Adam Roynon, Lewis Blackbird, Ashley Birks.  Grade B Joe Jacobs (Cov), James Sarjeant (Cov), Simon Lambert, Lewis Rose (KL), Adam Ellis (Lake), Stefan Nielsen, Nathan Greaves, Josh Bates, Max C!egg, Ashley Morris {W) and others  PICK ONE Poole get Newman, Belle Vue get Worrall, Kings Lynn get Kerr. Leicester (Auty) pick first followed by Wolves (Garrity) then Lakeside (Blackbird), Swindon (Wright) , Coventry (Roynon).  Depending on how these are graded will determine the best order on picks for Grade B riders Edited November 18, 2014 by T.N.T. MrMungo
Or Belle Vue knowing that Leicester won't pick Garrity due to his unavailability on Saturdays may chose not to protect Worrall, resulting in BV getting their local boy. Â Auty is not exactly the best of gaters, and let's be honest, Leicester is not easy to pass on (but that's for a different thread!), whereas Worrall/Blackbird/Wright are all sharp gaters, so may be a more logical pick for them. Â Or, they may chose to do the draft in a different manner this season...
