Why do the riders in Pot 1 need to be in an order? They are going to be picked in order of clubs finishing positions after all.

Clubs will choose based upon their view of the rider/their asset base/their race night etc.

Am I missing something? Pretty sure I read also that any rider from Pot 1 can guest for any Pot 1 rider which seems fair as they are all pretty even to be honest.

I'm not even sure Pot 2 needs a grading system this time around. Riders are much closer together in ability again this time around.

It will determine the order of the picks for Grade B. So if Newman was 1 and Poole protect and pick him then they will have last pick in the Grade B picks. Edited by woz01

Will there be an open, transparent & objective grading using last year's EL/PL/NL averages (with conversions) or will Neil Vatcher choose???

My subjective Grade A order would be:

Auty

Newman

Blackbird

Kerr

Garrity

Worrall

Roynon

Wright

Birks

Boxall

Would agree with that order

The point i would make is Newman was getting beaten by Kerr, Blackbird and Garrity earlier in the season when they wern't carrying injuries, later on Newman was winning more partly because he improved massively over the season but it has to be tempered with the fact other riders were not at their best later in the season which made his life a bit easier and he went through almost the entire season fully fit.

Riding with injuries and niggles are just part of the sport...if you are on the track then you are fit to be judged and from what I saw I would say Newman was consistently the best rider last season ...maybe on certain days Garrity , Kerr or Blackbird were better but I still say based on the whole season Newman was the best.

Happy with the proposals but, Mallet retired late on in the season and Liam Carr will miss all season to recover from his horrific injuries.

Robert Lambert was deemed non eligible for the FT scheme.

I really can't understand why Poole fans fail to recognise just how good Kyle was last season. & he was carrying injuries when he had a couple of iffy scores.

Let him be in an open draft & I'd bet that he would be the first pick of every promotor.

The only logical reason for playing down his season & wanting him graded lower than 1 is so they get a better pick in the 2nd draft.

Josh, Roynon & the rest might have had cause in the past to be rated higher than Kyle but that isn't the case now.

It makes no difference where the riders are in the Grade A list - its where the club finished in the EL that determines the order of the pick after (presumably) those clubs have picked their protected rider.

If Poole pick Newman (assuming he agrees to go on the list?), then they will have the last pick from the Grade B riders

Robert Lambert declined to join the FTR draft.

I think the important pick for all teams will be grade B - most of the grade A riders are similar in their abilities. Getting a good grade B will provide a better balance to the team - and hopefully provide better cover where the grade A gets injured during a meeting.

Without having to trawl threw other posts can protect a rider in the second grade rather than the first ? as I was thinking Cov and KL might want to do that with Rose and Sarjent seeing your get a more even pick in the first grade no matter what .

£40 a point and scoring 10 a meeting is........decent money! He'd get 5 rides too, mega bucks!

Also, any points money could be topped up with 'sponsorship' to make it more appealing I'm sure.

£40 x10 =£400

£120 x 4 = £480 + less maintenance from 4 rides instead of 5.

There was a reason he refused to go in it this season, i am sure it will be no different next.

He started the season quite slowly and i believe Kyle himself even said he was at risk of being dropped. Don`t recall him carrying a pre season injury.
