double_O
So much hype about signing one rider making us so good, that the play-offs are a certainty. Certainly could not be any worse. However with a top 5 having an average age of about 33 I can see hardly any improvement in any of their averages whereas other teams have more to come. A good team on paper but Poole, Kings Lynn and Belle Vue still look stronger IMO
abbo
Well done Mich Horton and his team it was obvious that Jagrod would have been a disaster to the team in this shortened season. It's a shame for the PoleI do think he will make it but not at Elite level at the moment. We have the best 6 & 7 in the league and Hans was in great form last Friday, for the first time in recent years I feel we are serious title contenders.

I was very impressed with Hans last 2 rides last week, we didn't see any of that last season.
Gemini
.......we didn't see any of that last season. Probably because he was as cheesed off with the track as the rest of us.
Steve0
Coventry certainly look like play-off certainties now - so with Poole, Coventry and KL looking likely, it only leaves one position to race for (IMHO)

Shale Searcher
So we have not even started the new seson properlly and we see the first rider getting the chop, not that it was unexpected, as he just wasn't up to riding in the EL. Can't for the life of me see why they signed him in the first place. It must have been speedway politics that was in action. Hope he can find a place in the PL and bring himself on a bit, but he may be to late now as there are not any places left, or are they. Hope we don't see more of this majic roundabout business, with riders getting booted and riders swapping clubs. It would be nice for once to see all the teams settle down into some sort of order, so that we the fans have some idea who actually races for us, one week to the next. Far to much, did we have to suffer last season with guest riders and rider replacements. Was sorry to see that the Lions are having to already look for a replacement for Jason Doyle, when he riders in the Pais for Australia. So that is just 2 weeks he will miss out, how many more as the season goes on. Why should he get a place in the PL? Don't think he's allowed in that league, should go back to Poland, learn his trade there, then come back an accomplished rider...... Why should we train em???
Steve0
Belle Vue looking good as well. They do as do Leicester and Swindon but as we all know league's aren't won on paper so we will need to wait and see which teams perform the best and cover for injuries best. People seem to be forgetting that he'd have to go into the PL on a 7 but he's be losing to draft riders, so in reality is no more than a 4-5 point PL rider and would lose 2-3 points on his average, about the same as he would lose in the EL - so why would any PL team want him is he's not wanted in theEL? Like you say, let him learn in Poland.

If you add in the ages of the two reserves the average age of the team comes down a hell of a lot .. Best starting 7 you have had for yonks !!
dj350z
GARRITY GEARING UP FOR BIG SEASON Bees fast-track reserve Jason GARRITY says he is looking to establish himself at the top level after becoming a club asset over the winter writes Observer speedway reporter Robin Allen. Garrity had originally opted to double up with Rye House and the Bees for 2015 until the Hertfordshire side announced a change in ownership which led to the Brit handing in a request and opened the door at Brandon. And with the switch to riding in the Elite League full-time, Garrity has invested heavily in his equipment this year in the hope it will take him to the next level. It feels great; I'm over the moon that I am an asset of coventry now because it's what I wanted to be owned by an Elite League club, Garrity told the Observer. I couldn't fault anything Len Silver has done for me at Rye House and I appreciate it. Here at Coventry now it's time to move on and progress in my career and I think this is the best place for me to be so hopefully it will be a big year. Things have changed like my bike this year; all my equipment is top of the range equipment its cost me quite a lot this year to get up and running but I couldn't thank my sponsors enough for what they have done, without them I wouldn't be able to do what I have done this year. I feel better already because I don't need to go out and ride in the winter, I've been riding speedway bikes all my life and all I know is speedway so for me I just want to get back on a bike and it's like yesterday so off we go! The Manchester born rider revealed that it was the family atmosphere and his partnership with fellow reserve James Sarjeant that convinced him to become a Bees asset. Me winning my races last year being the person I am speaking people it felt something wasn't quite right with my other team last year. We didn't have any team bonding, it didn't feel like a club but you come here to Brandon you've got people and family that don't just want to ride your speedway bike because they appreciate who you are. Me and James have been riding together since we were 5 or 6 years old. To go another year with him in the team you couldn't ask for better, we're friends on and off the track you know and Ive got his back whenever he needs me. The fast track system has become stronger this year with the inclusion of experienced Elite League reserves Ashley Birks and Josh Auty who join Kyle Newman who was part of the system last year. And Garrity added, My main goals this year, I want to be top of the averages in the fast track, I know Kyle Newman is flying along with a few other lads but it is going to be harder this year but like I say, my equipment is so much better this year. I went for practice and you could feel the difference in the way everything works which Is great. Edited March 26, 2015 by dj350z

mdmc82
Great words from Garrity and sounds very positive and commited. Definitely has the talent and great for the team spirit. Great partnership on track between him and Sarjeant. Good luck to both of our reserves. Hopefully there's a big season a head for them. Really glad we were able to keep them both in the draft
Woz01
I'd suggest that James Sarjeant will be close to some clubs number 6 by the end of the season. Improved as the season went on in 2014, having a PL spot at Glasgow more improvement should come. He is one that's certainly benefited from the draft. From what I saw of him at the end of last season he looked better than Garrity so I would say that he is already there - another reason why the Bees look strong this season.

Sarjeant has a few issues at some away tracks where he has struggled but certainly at Brandon I'd say he will have the beating of some of them. Beating Auty last week a good example. Being decent out of the gate helps him.

The Voice Of Reason
Good move from the Bees Promotion. I actually think that you now look stronger, in-depth, than that mob down on the South Coast. I can see Brandon becoming a bit of a fortress; hopefully not when Lakeside are in town though (okay, I can dream). As it's now where I watch most of my Speedway these days, I'm looking forward to some very good meetings at Cov throughout 2015. Best of luck to you all for the season ahead.

TBF you probably have a biased perception as in the Bees EL B meeting and the play-off meeting Sarj did outscore Garrity but other than a pointless meeting at Brum in April Jason out scored Sarj in all other meetings. Jason is still the far superior rider but Sarj is certainly not a bad rider to have at #7.
