Coventry 2015

Here's a fact

Mick Horton has already destroyed Coventry's season with a Jamroll of a signing when Killed-by-my-corpes-pee was available.

Kilmakorpi is one of my favourite riders and I would have loved to see him riding for the Bees again but is he worth paying more money than Hans? Don't think so.

Confirmed he has a groin injury so had to pull out. Wouldn't know how he got the injury though but not finishing 2 heats before pulling out does suggest something isn't right.

Could it have been in heat 15 last night?

Hope Andersen is okay after his crash in semi final of ELRC whilst 2nd. So close to the final.

Harris has posted:

Thanks to everyone for my well wishes. I have hurt my right leg, I tried to race however it was clear after race 1 that I was struggling and in my 2nd race it was clear to me that I was not able to ride safely for myself and with others so I withdrew from the meeting on medical grounds. Really gutted and sorry to my fans. I'm now at home resting up

Apparently Harris scored 7 from 4 in Ricky's meeting according to updates

Harris didn't ride in the meeting. Josh Bates took his place. Harris spent the day having treatment on his leg. Which updates were you looking at?

Coventry promoter Mick Horton admits he is closely monitoring the club’s No.4 position with the Elite League campaign getting underway this week.

The Buildbase Bees beat Leicester 52-40 in the second leg of the East Midlands Bowl last Friday, bouncing back from a heavy away defeat with a much more encouraging all-round showing at Brandon.

But with Polish newcomer Jakub Jamrog collecting only one point – having failed to score in the first leg – it was also a clear indication of just how powerful Bees could be if they were able to make full use of the 6.9 team-building points available to them in that position.

They originally intended to track Cameron Woodward, whose broken femur had not healed in time for the new season, and plans to sign Lewis Bridger were shelved due to the rider’s lack of equipment.

With few available options, Bees moved for Jamrog earlier this month, and clearly if they wished to go back into the rider market now they would be faced with exactly the same issues as they were three weeks ago.

Additionally, any change at this early stage would be very harsh on Jamrog, who is just getting himself sorted out for racing in the UK, and can obviously ride a speedway bike but all too often has been left trailing at the starts.

But Bees do know that in a 28-match Elite League schedule, four matches fewer than last season, playing catch-up is not an option they wish to contemplate.

Horton said: “We are fully aware of our situation, and we know it’s not something we can allow to continue indefinitely.

“I think we’re probably one rider away from being virtually invincible, that’s how strong I think we are, and you could see that from Friday.

“Our reserves were absolutely sensational and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Hans Andersen ride like that when he was passing people on the outside. It was brilliant to see.

“We’re monitoring things on a match-by-match basis. Jakub is a lovely lad and he does have ability, we want to give him the benefit of the doubt but let’s see how things develop.”

Jamrog is due at Wolverhampton tonight – venue of Bees’ first away match next week – in an Individual meeting, with skipper Chris Harris also declared in the line-up.

Harris was forced to withdraw from Saturday’s Elite League Riders’ Championship at Leicester after just two rides, being officially signed out with a groin injury although he was not involved in any crash.

Andersen, meanwhile, looked a possible winner after three race victories, but he came to grief while holding second spot in the semi-final and therefore had to watch on as home man Jason Doyle took the title.

If Horton thinks we are one rider away from being virtually invincible then get Kylmakorpi in.
