mdmc82
Kings Lynn replace Poole in the World Champions League meeting. I wonder if we were asked or used the league table? I wondered the same as Kings Lynn didn't make the final. Not that we need the distraction.

Just wondered how they came to pick Kings Lynn that's all. Perhaps the Darcy punishment has something to do with it so in F.I.M eyes Kings Lynn finished top. SCB
Easy for a second string?! No-one got 10 apart from Harris with riders taking R/R rides so...................... You may have missed this, but the second string we have is crap And Robson is no Woodward, never expect to be that level either.

Shawn, you are all over the place with the points you are making with no consistency! Don't get me wrong, I like Cam Woodward but you slagged him off after he was signed by Coventry, now you are saying he would have scored 10 points yesterday when even Harris only scored 10 from 6 and King scored 6+1 from 6! Game On
That is true one of them a fall but the line up was better than he will face on Friday. I was just pointing out he can do it and he has shown it at Brandon not necessarily that I think he will on a consistent basis. Well looking at the line up, I think he may beat Ben Morley at a push and that's about it. But saying that I think I need to see him in the flesh before I really get on his back. When he signed I said he was a poor signing for his average. I stand by that. But that still makes him better than what we have now. What Harris, a heat leader scores is not comparable to what a 6.5 second string should be scoring in this format. A 6.5 second string should be capable of scoring 10 from 6 just by beating second strings. Harris had to ride against heat leaders. Herris is a heat leader so should be beating some of the opposition heat leaders that's his job he didn't do it like Shawn says you can't compare Harris to second strings scores

But saying that I think I need to see him in the flesh before I really get on his back. This is the thing, in Poland he has beaten top riders in the last few of years but he has no pedigree in Britain. We have to see how he performs at Brandon he deserves that at least. I'm sure if we look at scores in Poland he would have beaten the likes of Walasek and Wozniak on occasions so you'd think at a track like Brandon he can do it too.
lionking
Ben Morley won't be riding on friday it will be Simon Lambert who is Leicester's actual no 7 . Ben Morley was only a guest yesterday because Lambert was given permission to ride for his PL club Peterborough. Well looking at the line up, I think he may beat Ben Morley at a push and that's about it. But saying that I think I need to see him in the flesh before I really get on his back. weatherwatcher
Ben Morley has riden at Leicester on quite a few occasions and his scores have always been consistant. That is he just didn't score, can't see for the life of of me why they chose him to ride for the Lions again or was it just the fact that the where finding it hard to get a rider to come in at short notice. He must have been one of the worst chocies they could have made. They would have been far better bringing in Max Clegg who really uped his game in the last 3 meetings and looked a different rider to the one who rode at the start. Simon Lambert, could prove to be a hard nut to crack on Friday. I think it will be a lot closer racing than it was on Sunday. If the Lions ride like they did on Sunday and with the inclusion of Lambert, it could be a very close meeting indeed. Would not like to say who is going to come out on top, but it will be interesting to see ghow the Lions riders perform together away.

Shale Searcher
I noticed a lot of other teams are having practice time together on their tracks. Does anybody know if coventry have been able to do this at Brandon? Not sure they are allowed by the landlords of Brandon... We have the benefit of being solely built for Speedway, that has enabled Lions riders that are in the UK to brush up on there racing skills/bike set-ups before press and practise day and start of official season.. Did anyone think the bikes sounded louder against Coventry? There was definitely less "popping and banging" when the throttle was dipped before cornering, and the deeper outer lines of the track were used more often, especially on the pits bend? The baffleless silencers are allowing burnt gasses to escape quicker, therefore not strangling the engines in the deeper dirt.....

weatherwatcher
It is a terrible state of affairs when a speedway club can't get any practice time on their home track. Even though they don't own it. The people that do should be able to allow them at least one night a week to use the track for practice sessions, surely they stadium is not used 7 days a week. Or do they have problems with local planning issues. I am sure that the owners are not hard stuffed for cash that they would even think of charging the speedway club to pay for using the stadium for practice. The more practice they get in, then the stronger the side gets, so then it hopefully brings in more crowds, so it is more money to line their pockets. Did the owners of the tracks in the 60's and 70's have this issue that seems to be a 20th centuary dellema , that every thing boils down to making as much profit as you can. If you are making a small profit or just breaking even then this is no good to them. They need to be getting in as much as they can now. What a stuppid old world we live in. You are aware the owners want the stadium to close down so they can build houses on it? So they'll be doing as little as possible to help the speedway. abbo
The point that weather watcher raises I can vibe you a reply to your question late 50's, 60's there was at rack (of sorts) on the car park at front of stadium, this was marked out as a track, this was used for training and practice by novices and riders. No Healthand Safety in those days!.
markyb
With regards Jakob Jamrog - I personally am impressed with the Bees promotion, management and more importantly Jakob himself for taking the "plunge" at the start of 2015. The "kid" needs as much backing and encouragement from us, the fans, in the short term. Have read so many negative comments already, this after just a couple of meetings in the Uk in 2015 - which ain't gonna help the confidence. Give him a chance - we all get a opportunity to see the desire and potential this Friday. It may well be that he is the "next best thing" rather than being a Bryan Yarrow type figure.
Gemini
The majority of Coventry fans are pretty good at waiting for a rider to improve and not getting on his back too quickly, as long as it can be seen that he is trying and not taking the mickey doing wheelies at the back like Lewis Bridger did. I can't remember too much criticism aimed at Brian Yarrow and I'm sure he stayed the whole season even though he very rarely finished anywhere other than 4th place.
