Coventry 2015

BCD seems to make a lot of negative and snide comments against just about everybody. It's so much easier to criticise than be constructive.

That's not strictly true but I do criticise when I feel its justified but pick and choose my targets carefully as you Tsunami know well.

I have made a lot of constructive comments on here perhaps your just choosing to jump on the band wagon as I notice EI Addio has as well.

If you believe the complete drivel Horton puts out under the title he calls press releases then that's your perogative, I know him just a little better.

You spend an awful lot of time on here making snide remarks about Mick Horton, but you never back it up.

If you've got something to say, why don't you just say it?

I often back up what I put on here and if you read back through this thread you will find the evidence.

But the post we are referring to was something he made up in his head just to get another dig in. It wasn't necessary at all. 15 riders signing for Horton this season shows his post was just for a dig and factually incorrect. Even Kylmakorpi said he would like like to ride for us this year on twitter.

I don't why I came back on here after a 2 week break.

If you truly believe everything what Horton says is gospel then their is no helping you.

Fair comments Dick, that is your opinion which you are entitled to. By the same token, I have had dealings with MH since he has been at Coventry regarding sponsorship and other matters and I have found him to be true to his word and a pleasure to deal with. In fact I would say he went over and beyond what was agreed!

With regards to dealings with riders, I have no insight into that area so cannot comment as will be the case with majority of us on this forum and we all know there is always 2 sides to a story and when you are in possession of all the facts then quite often things are not as they seem on the surface.

I think its pretty clear that Mick Horton offers a mixed bag, he's probably not the most trustworthy promoter but neither is he the devil incarnate that some make out. People seem to have had different experiences dealing with him.

Isn't that the same with all promoters? :D:party:

Wasn't JK's tweet made on Fri? If so it could be that Horton made contact with him after that and he set his own price and that's why Horton made a panics signing over the weekend as Jamrog was already over here.

He could've spoke to him at any point even before signing Bridger. If JK price was high then it would likely be higher now. You never know Jamrog may be an inspired signing.

Can't disagree with that.

And I think that sums you up actually.

Looking at some of the other line ups, I can't see us being top 4 as weak in the 2nd string position but hopefully we will have an entertaining year.

I think our reserves will get us in the top 4, just. Unless of course Jamrog is better than a 5.5 average which would be a boost.

Regarding bigcatdiarys posts, don't forget that TWICE Mick Horton has left Peterborough in a precarious position. Mildenhall had to drop back to the NL after his involvement too and it took them years to get over his involvement. I think Mick means well and try hard but bites off more thna he can chew - we've seen it many times in his spell at Coventry.

Thing is he keeps going, trying to make things work. His critics have usually done nothing. I find it odd that he is loathed at Peterborough, and initially also at Coventry. Since then he seems to have won a lot over at Coventry with what he has done, and the team he has built, but the usual critics keep following him around. There are a lot of plusses with him, but like everyone else he has his faults. I suppose his critics have them as well, but not on here of course.:nono::D

We all understand why he and others have no time for Horton. We don't need to hear it after every bit of news that comes out like rider signings.

Oh come on Woz01, at least it gives us something to discuss otherwise the Poole thread would dominate the forum. :t:

That's true I suppose. 👍

I have no strong opinion about Horton but I am pleased that Coventry is still running. If he hadn't stepped in would we still be competing in the league?

Probably to be fair, there was more than one interested party.
