Woz01
Does the guy not realise the damage he causes. Everything seemed so positive for the new season now this. As for contributing to the air fence - I'm out! Nice one Mick Horton It can come out of his own pocket as far as I'm concerned. Can't treat people like that and expect fans to help out. I hope your reading Neil Watson.
mdmc82
This is disgraceful. Surely as a employer you have rights Chris? It always seems that Horton does something really positive for the club like the Garrity transfer yesterday but then it's followed by another step backwards like this sacking. He seems very hot headed and has got to accept that people will have their own opinions on things. Chris Simpson has been a huge breath of fresh air last season with presenting the bees meetings and really got the atmosphere back (unlike Yorke) would be a big blow.
INCOGNITO
Riders are paid a set amount for the kevlars and the rider often gets his own done. If they cost more than in the budget then the rider pays the excess. After years of questionable business Mick Horton has certainly seemed to have been doing everything spot on at Coventry and hopefully he can help get them to the new track in 2017. Very good business in swapping Kennett for Garrity and fielding a team that are available in all the matches. It also gives Garrity the chance to now get a new Premier league track during the season if he wants without affecting Coventry. Well done Bees you have a good set up this year and hope to see that continue in years to come at a new venue when the time comes. . ...... never saw the last few posts !! WembleyLion
I'm really sorry for Chris as he has done a great deal for the club. Although Hansen's contribution to the club has been minimal he still deserves to be paid everything he is owed and should not have to wait for it! TheSmiler
The amount of times I've stuck up for him and he continues to prove me wrong. I thought we'd gotten past this with him. Pathetic doesn't even cover it. How he has fans baffles me. We had a big tiff in 2013 to the point I had a sit down talk with him and I thought we'd turned a corner. I'm not sticking up for him anymore. He continues to dig holes.

Woz01
Look at Kennetts averages and what you will see is how he has declined over the years. Kennett has a higher average cos he started on a higher one due to his then EL average. He has been around more years than Garrity and career is only going one way. Whilst we are talking about the PL Kennett managed to drop from 10.65 to 8.38 in the averages. Does that look like a improving rider? Whilst Garrity improved on his average, starting the season 5.31 and finishing it 6.75. So yes you have a point when you say look at their improvement in the PL, Garrity is the better rider I assumed riders just kept them and didnt get money back once they are used, which is why some sell them on ebay Which is why I thought they were compensated once returned. I've been told that's what happens at Coventry but of course that could be wrong. No other riders had issues on this, why only Hansen? The amount of times I've stuck up for him and he continues to prove me wrong. I thought we'd gotten past this with him. Pathetic doesn't even cover it. How he has fans baffles me. We had a big tiff in 2013 to the point I had a sit down talk with him and I thought we'd turned a corner. I'm not sticking up for him anymore. He continues to dig holes. He does good then balances it with some insane decisions. There was such a buzz going into this season and from one text message it's gone flat
Nellie
Whilst we are talking about the PL Kennett managed to drop from 10.65 to 8.38 in the averages. Does that look like a improving rider? Whilst Garrity improved on his average, starting the season 5.31 and finishing it 6.75. That's a bit misleading, as Kennett was on an converted average. The Rye House 2014 only PL averages, show Kennett's GSA as 8.64 and Garrity's 6.62. Including BPs, Kennett was 8.75 and Garrity was 7.26. So yes you have a point when you say look at their improvement in the PL, Garrity is the better rider He isn't. Maybe in a year or two, but as it stands, Kennett was far better in the Premier League last season. URGENT MESSAGE TO COVENTRY BEES STAFF - Do not like Kenneth Kruse Hansen's latest post re his race suit or you may be sacked by Mick Horton like Me !! Shame Mick wasn't so on the ball at the dinner dance when I made a 3 hour round trip with 2 recently bereaved children only to find out he's completely missed us off the table plan or book the room he's agreed for us. Instead we killed 2 hours in McDonalds then I DJ'd the night completely free of charge for him. Well toodle pip speedway Sacked via messenger? A particularly classy way of conducting business, and for an utterly ridiculous reason. Edited February 15, 2015 by Nellie

He has a very good knack of pissing off the people that actually matter! Back to dire, cringeworthy, unprofessional presentation then is it? Lioness
Well you have to admit, Mick Horton has everyone talking about the Coventry situation. Pity its by ensuring that a piece that shows the clubs management in such a poor way gets maximum coverage. If he had just kept his mouth shut a good proportion of the speedway public would not have been aware he had an outstanding invoice due to Kenneth Hansen. Now however the majority probably will. Aye, bright move Mr Horton!
BluPanther
Horton's response is completely pathetic, but will come as no surprise to many...

proud panther
Horton's a crook who still owes money to Peterborough riders from last season, so a few quid for kevlars is nothing to him.
deanr1
Sad to see our proud and historic club being made to look like a circus once again by Mr Horton. I never used to be a big fan of Chris Simpson's presentation at first, but he's really grown on me over the years and now I really enjoy what he does, speedway nights at Brandon will certainly be poorer without him. I hope this gets resolved and we see Chris back for the new season. Horton really does seem to have absolutely zero people skills, what an embarrassment.
maneacat
It seems Horton and Hansen are in dispute over Kevlars. Hansen wants his money back but I always assumed riders get there money back when they are returned? I'd just pay him back, not worth the hassle. Yes you were spot on with your opinion as its really kicked off on Facebook today (as well as on here). Peterborough could do with a good Centre Green Presenter - no idea if the Club are fixed up for this season but its not been good since Darren Fletcher did the job.

If he's owed he should be payed end off
SpeedwayTShirts
It's quite funny to think that I've been sacked for liking something that was factually correct. Even more funny when you think I was reprimanded and fined at the end of 2013 for posting on Facebook that there were some xxxxxxx knobs in British Speedway. Now it's been proven maybe I should receive a refund on my fine

As I said earlier I'd have paid him as we don't really need the hassle but I'm not in Hortons position. Let's not forget Coventry is i believe one of only a few clubs that reimburses riders for club Kevlars. None of us on the bsf would last 5 minutes at a club if that constitutes a sacking offence. I like things on facebook out of sarcasm sometimes, people can't just assume what you are thinking. At least have the decency to ask them directly.
