SCB
Wish I could share your optimism. Give it until May and there will be another retirement I reckon. "another retirement". Why would he? It's not as if when he decided last season to retire he did it mid-season, he waited until the winter. People change there mind all the time. Dak North was going top ride in Britiain last season, Scott Nicholls wasn't going to ride in Britain in 2009, Hans wasn't going to ride in British in 2009 - they all changed their mind, so what. Woz01
If people read what Bridger has posted over the last few days on twitter people might understand why he took the decision to retire at that time. He had only retired once before, he isn't the first nor the last sportsman to retire and then change his mind. Of course it could backfire but it could with any rider so looking at it Bridger in a 2nd string role is an excellent signing.
brian45
I agree Lewis should be given a chance and he will be fine
Shale Searcher
It could be good for him (Lewis Bridger) Not spent all close season worrying aboit this season! A bit like changing in your van on the motorway, and going straight out to ride!! No track walk, no preconceptions about the weather or track, no time thinking about your set up...... Just arrive and ride! just a thought..

I can't be doing with Twitter as you are only allowed a few words at a time and if he's been posting bit by bit over a few days it's going to take me ages to catch up. Thanks. Pretty much about not enjoying the sport as he had some things going on privately and it's now been sorted. Had help with depression too but he feels he is now ready to race. His original decision to retire wasn't about money as some seem to claim.
Gemini
Thanks for the reply. I thought I read somewhere that he sold the bikes that he used at Lakeside that 'were flying'. I can never understand why riders do this and have to start again from scratch the following season. In this case I'm not referring to Bridger because if he was going to retire then it's understandable, but someone like Chris Harris who usually takes about 3 months to get going while he gets the right set up. Towards the end of the season he's usually 'flying' too - although perhaps not so much the last couple of years - then he sells the bikes and off we go on the merry go round again. With apologies to Chris if I've got this wrong but that's what I have been told in the past.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Lewis himself said a few times that he wasn't earning enough money to make it worthwhile. I would guess that his private life and struggling with depression was probably a bigger factor in his decision to retire though. As others have mentioned, it's a real shame that he didn't keep the bikes he was on last year - they were very quick! I think riding in Poland last season helped. SCB
Garrity handed in transfer request at Rye House and been replaced by Mellgren. How odd. There were suggestions from Rye House that he was unsettled last season but he re-signed for them early on this season. I wonder if another club, with an Aussie who won't get a work permit has tapped him up.

Gemini
Hopefully going to another PL track that won't mean so many fixture clashes with Coventry then?

As Coventry have now signed him first it's likely we will get priority.

Woz01
Depends on the rule. So it's just wait and see now! That's true but he says he is only doing EL so if that's the case a bonus for us.
