Coventry 2015

Lewis Bridger has tweeted that he has had to borrow half his speedway salary to race this season. Fair play to him for that.

Strangely enough I was thinking differently when I had that email come through. Why didn't he stick with his original intention and take a year out if things are that desperate.

Think it's more the rush to get equipment together in 8 weeks which needed funds asap.

Wouldn't that apply to most speedway riders though.

I hope not, Lewis has 8 weeks to get equipment ready hence the need to rush around and borrow. I doubt he has much sponsorship helping him at the minute. I'd say other riders started planning for this season before last season finished so he is way behind.

Fair point.

Looking forward to watching this team this season to get my EL fix. I think they will do quite well.

I dont think anyone should pay what they cant afford or break the bank. Bridger is the safe option, Pawlicki was obviously everyone's number 1 choice though. Not too sure we will see Pawlicki in Britain this season.

Having watched Lewis Bridger race from his first year in the National League I think he is one very talented rider. Given this is a relatively last minute decision to race this season maybe the added pressure of the debt might give him extra focus. Personally I am looking forward to seeing him race at Coventry this season.

Wish I could share your optimism. Give it until May and there will be another retirement I reckon.
