Phil The Ace
If Garrity was to leave the draft and go into top 5 because of the money, would he be making a good decision Yes he would only be getting £40pp and probably average 9 a meeting equalling in about £360 per meeting approx If he went in top 5 for what would be likely about £80pp scoring about 5 a meeting equaling in £400 approx So really there will be no difference Edited November 25, 2014 by Phil The Ace

Its the lads choice what he wants to do. If he feels he is ready for a top 5 position and Coventry (as the example) want to use him then good luck to him. He is completely right to say he doesn't want to be protected whether he is on the Draft or not.

And if I was him I'd take the FTD still as he will consistently score high scores earning more money.
naffer
what would garritys average be if he was in the top 5 anyone know? 6.75 for rye house in the premier and if it is a conversion of 60% of that to elite I make it 4.05 . Woz01
Andreas comes in on a 9.03 average. All previous aves above the highest in 2014, PUK, reduced. Hope you don't get him, as want him for Lakeside Interesting if its true.
SCB
Suddenly on 9.03 AJ doesn't look like such a bad signing. Probably still on the high side but probably worth it for the excitement.

Steve0
So far you have confirmed the signing of.... Cameron Woodward! At least you can dream
proud panther
Maybe Coventry are protecting Sargeant, & hoping that they still get Garritty ?
Steve0
Maybe Coventry are protecting Sargeant, & hoping that they still get Garritty ? Sarj is the one I'd protect because I think he will make good progress this season and would give Coventry two strong reserves (because all of the grade A riders are roughly equal) Edited November 25, 2014 by Steve0
SCB
So far you have confirmed the signing of.... Cameron Woodward! At least you can dream After the nightmare of Woodward the only thing we have left is dreams Maybe Coventry are protecting Sargeant, & hoping that they still get Garritty ? Thats a warped logic. The only way I see that working is if by picking someone low down on the Grade B riders we get an early pick in Grade 1. Assuming there has been no change in the draft order from the end of last season, the 10 riders in the Grade B pot will be Adam Ellis, Stefan Nielsen, Paul Starke, Ashley Morris, Joe Jacobs, Josh Bates, Oliver Greenwood, Lewis Rose, Tom Perry, James Sarjeant. So Coventry having picked the worse Grade B rider will get first pick of Grade A rider. Otherwise pick Garrity. Auty, Blackbird, Kerr and Newman will all be above him so Lynn, Wolves(assuming they get blackbird), Leicester (Auty) and Poole will all get to pick after Coventry meaning as long as BV (Nielsen?), Swindon and Lakeside (Ellis) don't want him we'll get Sarj anyway! AJ, Bomber, Woodward, Mads, Fricke, Garrity, Sarj. Please Santa
proud panther
SCB, you don't honestly believe that Sargeant will be picked last if he isn't protected do you ? Apart from Ellis & Starke, I think Sargeant is as good as any of the others.

Apart from Ellis & Starke, I think Sargeant is as good as any of the others. He doesn't need to be picked last. If Coventry pick Garrity they're have 4th pick in the next round. Frankly, I'd prefer Garrity and anyone from the 2nd list to Birks, Roynon or Boxall and Sarj. The 2nd reserve is only going to get points off the other second reserves so you're looking at 3 point a meeting at best but the better reserves will be looking at beating second strings too and will have 5 rides where they go out against another reserve. I dont get why anyone would choose to pick a second reserve over a first given the choice. Why would Lakeside dump Ellis for him? Or BV pick him over Nielsen having had Nielsen all year? Its only Swindon that might want him. Edited November 25, 2014 by SCB

proud panther
Well Garritty isn't protected, but at this stage, we don't know if it's his choice or Coventry. All will be revealed later.

Woz01
No one is actually protected yet. It seems Garrity does want to be at Coventry and will be so whether it's in the 1-5 or as a reserve. Also I've seen that they will vote before the draft on whether both reserves will have to do 4 heats.

dabbsjoe
I'm guessing Garrity has accepted the invitation to the draft therefore he'll be a reserve and not in the main body. As far as I know nobody has rejected the invitation to be in the draft whether he doesn't want to be at Coventry is a different matter
