Not bigger stakes for Freddie.

If he had used his best equipment we might have been in the play offs and not in a basement battle.

You seriously believe that? He blew his engine the other day hence bringing over equipment from Sweden, its perfect sense for someone wanting to earn and is probably being paid well to do so.

He doesn't have any bigger stakes as you claim, it's just a chance for him to make more money - unless he rides like he does for us of course.

If cov are paying him good money to do so then good luck to him.

Tai's too busy campaigning for British Speedway to actually bother riding here.

And following a long line of top riders who have done the same in the past 8 years or so.

He is saying what all those other riders are saying.

I think Mick has done the right thing, its great that we've made the play offs and although the idea of signing a world class rider is exciting, throwing a 5 figure sum at a rider for possibly only 2 meetings is ridiculous if it's money we can't afford.

Fair enough in the days of Sandhu I would want us to go for it, but we no longer have his vast amounts of cash behind us and we need to cut our cloth to suit rather than financially cripple the club by getting caught up in the play off hype.

There's no guarantee Emil or Woffy would do the business anyway, neither was a dominant force last time they rode here, and has Emil even been to Poole before? I doubt he's done many laps round there.

Look at Zagar, he's a top class rider but he's had plenty of shockers, there are no guarantees a GP rider will get a big score, they could crash, have bike problems, or just have a poor night. It's not worth gambling crazy money like that, they might score 15 but they might score 5.

Lindgren is a good choice of guest and is a better rider than Joonas, could be a great move if he can rediscover his old Brandon form.

I'm pleased with that. I suspect Freddie has always fancied riding for the Bees anyway. Now he gets his chance to put in a top performance at the business end of the season.

Stevebrum is calling Lindgren for everything for guesting for Bees and ensuring he has his best equipment available. Yet if the situation was reversed and it was (and you'll all have to do a bit of suspending of your disbelief here) Wolves in the play offs and Chris Harris was deputising for them, he'd expect nothing more than 100%. And he knows he'd get 100% from Bomber too.
Of course Lindgren's going to make sure he's as prepared as he can be for these meetings. He's not going to want to be shown up in one of the biggest meetings of the year. Anyone with a degree of competitiveness will want to go into that meeting showing that they can perform at the highest level.

woz01, do you really think that Woffinden would risk his World Title hopes to ride for Coventry ? Horton was talking to riders that he hadn't got a hope in hell of signing.

But if he didn't ask we'd all be moaning about him having no ambition. Tai I agree was a long long shot but he had to ask these riders when we had 8 points available. You actually agree the point then by saying these riders won't ride here so we had no option to go down the guest route. Even riders that have rode here previously didn't want to come over for potentially 2 meetings.

I'm confused. People kept saying JK was a massive miss because of his home form and it depleted the Bees. Now its play off time and he's being replaced by a rider who has been a flop throughout this season and now they are stronger?

I'm confused as well. At Brandon Kylmakorpi had scored 4, 11, 12, 15max in our last 4 meetings as a heat leader whilst Lindgren had scored 6 from 5 rides!

Not sure why anybody would think it made us stronger. These engines will have to be different to the ones he's used for Wolves. Can't see him bringing his best over though when he has the Swedish final the next day.

Ah fair enough! Getting the excuses in early ala mdmc82!!! As someone said yesterday it's going to be funny no matter who loses thanks to her and Starman!

Why would it be funny?

I've got nothing against Poole this year. They have stuck by the same line up and not cheated.

I do think they are currently the strongest team in the league.

Plus he'll want to do his best so he gets offered a Bees team place for 2016 - its what every rider dreams of isn't it?! :D

You can take an engine on a plane and back again riders do it all the time. He blew his Wolves engine last week so he will be bringing one from Sweden.
