Coventry 2015

What a load of cobblers, the crowds at Swindon have increased a lot since Rosco pulled off the move to get Darcy on board, and now with Summers the team is doing better which will attract even more .

The future looks good for The Roobins, crowds up with Wardo coming in, a shiny new stadium with actual seating as well next year. If Miedzinski had stayed at 1 crowds would have been well down. Whether it will be viewing Elite or some other format at the new gaff we don't know but positive news from Russell...should take 5 months to build.

Realistically you'd need to change Robbo, King and Andersen to salvage anything from the season. That's why it's probably not worth doing anything.

Agree with Hans & Robson but personally I would keep King. He at times has been one of our strongest home riders as a 2nd string. The problem is that Hans terrible form has pushed him in to a heat leader position.

With Dudek rumoured in the speedway star as wanting to join EL (although imagine he would be too expensive) summers would have joined if earlier, and with Howarth also asking to come back, the promotion can't tell us that the change can't be done cos there are no riders.

It has to either be they don't think we need a change or financial

If the club can't afford new riders, it can't. Probably Swindon can't afford that very expensive team they are now running - where's the money coming from to pay for Ward, Batchelor & Zengota? By all accounts their attendances are even lower than ours. With luck, we'll be here next season - will Swindon?

Or, here's a conspiracy theory: Poole are subsidising Ward's wages, a) to keep him match fit for next year and B) to stuff Coventry.....

Really? I was at Coventry and was shocked by small attendance. Then I read several comments by Coventry fans saying it was a good crowd.

Sort out the presentation there, which is practically non existent, and you might encourage more people to make repeat visits.

I agree, I thought that was one of our poorer crowds of the season but you can see why with no team news.

I really don't get where this poor crowd is coming from. I got there at 6.55pm and had to park a lot further back than I usually do as the car park was filling up fast. I judge attendances by how many are on the 3rd/4th bend as that's usually the least populated - often just the 3 in my little group and a dozen or so others scattered around. This time there were loads more, including a couple from 'up North' with a gorgeous little boy (no names, no pack drill) and 7 Swindon fans (my friends) plus others I haven't seen on that bend before. Don't forget the stadium holds over 12,000 so it would take a lot to make it look a big crowd, but I'd say that was definitely one of the best of the season.

i think you are correct the attendance would be better with better promotion, giving team news before you get there! and fans are not going to attend a meeting when they thing their team is not going to be competitive, nobody likes to see their team lose at home.

Could we bring in AJ for Hans and Lawson for Robbo ?

No, because to fit AJ in you'd have to drop Harris (7.09) or Kylmakorpi (7.00).

Basically Hans woeful season has undermined the integrity of the whole top 5 as you're now stuck with King and JK at 3 and 5 riding in Heats that they are completely incapable of scoring in.

Joonas on 7.00 does not "exceed 7" as the rules state. So we could replace Hans or Danny with a 7+ rider.

Danny has steadily plodded all season. I've no issues with him. But the point stands that he could be replaced by a 7+ rider. Replacing Hans would mean Danny dropping back to second string, give him a couple of weeks to get himself for again and I'm sure he'll be fine for the play-offs.
