We will have to see the actual list and where the Grade A riders stand before we can know for certain what we would like.

Agreed, Sarjeant is the strongest 2nd draft pick there, so have to protect him, if you don't get Garrity, you'll end up getting Roynon or someone similar, could be worse.

Funnily enough Sarjeant was only 16th on the last draft list published. A lot of Grade B riders above him.

I am torn as would love to have Garrity back again but think Sarjeant stepped up more under pressure and was also able to beat most of the other draft riders.

Think Auty and Blackbird could also be good at reserve.

Another thing is Sarjeant wouldn't miss meetings due to being an asset but Garrity could end up missing a lot again. It's a tough decision as ideally we would keep both but not the case if can't protect both.

Hoping that we hear Harris announced very soon with regards to main team

Howarth missed more meetings than Garrity and it will be the same if we sign him next season. sarjeant good second reserve no where near Garrity though

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd really rather we protected Sarjeant. He will keep improving. We should go for one of Birks, Roynon or Auty in the first.

I think we could get away with Garrity in the 1-5.

1. Andersen

2. Howarth

3. Larsen

4. Garrity

5. Harris

6. Roynon/Birks

7. Sarjeant

If Garrity goes in the draft we can't sign him for the 1-5 so better to have him at reserve

See, on his actual performances last season, wouldn't say that, admittedly Starke is on par with him, but the rest.... nah, prefer James.

I don't get why people are suggesting keeping Sarj ahead of Jason. I'm guessing the 4 are Hans, Harris, Howarth and Garrity. If we get Sarj too then great. Hansen has already said he's not coming back and Barker was an act of desperation and we can get better riders.

It's a tough decision but I would protect Garrity.

it's going to be a higher standard in the reserve races next year and Jason can compete at the new level.

I realise sarjeant did really well in the last third of 2014 but the standard in the second draft is much closer and we still might get to pick him anyway. He will remain an asset in any case.

if we protect sarjeant in the second draft we will almost certainly we get Roynon in the first, who is a bit too fragile for my liking.

Difficult decision one I did not think would arise.

I thought Horton said in a statement some where he was looking for a new number one

me personally.... Sarj and Starke are the stand out riders in Draft B, and compared to the rest will outscore them easily. Draft A are quite equal, and if you miss out on Garrity, your likely still to get a top end rider, if you miss out on Sarj, could end up with a Jacobs like rider.

I don't know why people are getting concerned about protecting Draft B riders. You only need 1 outstanding reserve (a decent 2nd one is a real bonus).

The best reserve usually gets at least 5 rides (including one of the weaker reserves rides) so i fail to see why some are getting a boner about getting the best B grade rider.

Get the right A grade first and foremost, the 2nd rider`s scoring ability is a bonus.

Just checking down my boxers, cant see a boner yet.

You have 2 rides potentially with your reserves unless that changes, I'd rather have a, strong b, and a solid a draft rider, than a rubbishe b rider, and a great a rider, chances are, I'm going to get more points than you.

Pretty simple really, don't get me wrong, 1 brilliant reserve, would be awesome, but to get 2, will really make the difference.

You have to get the ride top reserve. He has 5 rides, maybe 6 if he replaces a top 5 rider. The number 7 only has to take 3 rides. I'd prefer to get the the top reserve right. Auty is the top guy, then is between Worrall, Garrity, Newman, Kerr and Blackbird. Whats left tehn while decent isn't as good and Coventry getting 5th pick and Kerr and Newman not being in it will basically mean Coventry get the pick of the worse 3. Boxall, Roynon and Birk I'm guessing. Well thanks but I'd prefer to have Garrity. Then we get 3rd pick in the second round, so Poole get to pick some, Lyn will pick Rose. Unless Matt decides to pee off Coventyr theres a good chance Sarj will be available, if not I'd happily take Nielsen, Jacobs or Greenwood.

Season after season its one good reserve that gets you too the Play Offs and wins you the final. Nothing will different in 2015.

2 good reserves is a bonus i agree, but you really only need 1 big scoring reserve.

What makes you think that having Garrity as a protected rider will get Coventry 3rd pick in group B?

2nd pick depends on what rider you choose in pick 1.
