heathen chemistry
the longer the season goes on the more chance there is of injuries, year on year we have play offs with make shift teams full of guests and r/r when will the bspa understand the need to get the league meeting over and done with by mid august the weather also becomes abig problem in the play offs
Woz01
Injuries including horrendous ones have happened every season its just much more noticeable because Darcy Ward was on that suffered a serious one. I still want us to win the title because otherwise what's the point in it all. The way fans have rallied around Darcy has been superb and I'm sure he and others who have had serious injuries would tell every single fan to go and carry one supporting their side. That's what I'm going to do. Up the Bees. Get well soon Joonas

Gemini
Nobody expected racing to continue after the accident but as others have said, stop using the word curfew. Or at least advise the paying public (the few that are left) that the curfew is self imposed. The stock cars regularly proceed well past 11. Make swift decisions on how you're going to reimburse the public for paying for two meetings but only watching one. Also ask yourself why we were only on Heat 5 of the second meeting at 10 o clock. The only word to describe that is 'shambles'. A lot of the blame for that would appear to lay at the feet of the referee, who seems to have gone senile in recent weeks. The delay between the two meetings was at least twice the length it needed to be. We're seriously going to try this again next Friday with a 7.30 start? I wouldn't bother travelling if I were an Eastbourne rider or fan that's for sure. Sorry but I've got to agree with this post. I don't think the word 'curfew' should be used when there isn't one. In fact when there was a hold up a couple of people I was with were expecting this to be announced next and sure enough it was. Why not just tell the truth in simple language that it's unfortunately going to take too long to move Dan into an ambulance for the match to continue. Like others have said fans hate being lied to. Peter York said there would be a short break between matches but it took ages before heat 1 of the Mildenhall match started so yet another unnecessary delay. Storm double headers just do not work because by the very nature of the riders there are likely to be more crashes than at a Bees match and not many fans are that interested in long drawn out meetings with 30 races. That's the opinion of the people I was with anyway and that's why the support has sadly dropped off. Wishing Dan a speedy recovery.
Midland Red
Great post, Gemini - except . . . . Do you really believe Peter York knows anything about anything???
Gemini
Perhaps not after convincing me we were riding against Kings Lynn in the first Storm match.

SCB
Kyle Howarth sent out a warning to Poole, Swindon and Lynn/BV tonight. He scored 3 at Berwick. On a totally unrelated note, well done to Bartosz Zmarzlik on finishing 4th in a GP tonight.
