Coventry 2015

Lewis Brifger is a Speedway rider with talent unfortunately he lacks the professionalism of mature riders like Hans, Bomber etc. He's mow at an age where it is make or break I think break is the final answer. I read in the SS that he had been holidaying for a rather long length of time, perhaps he didn't realise an offer could be coming in but it's no way to prepare for a season at top level. He appears to have made his mind up let's now find someone who wants to ride for the Bees and have done with him once and for all. I did forecast that he wouldn't last two months shows how wrong I was.

Obviously none of us outside the management of the club are in the know about any arrangements that were or were not made between Lewis and the Bees management. However, if someone came to fit my kitchen, I wouldn't expect them to ask me for an upfront loan because they didn't have any tools and needed to get some secondhand ones!

I went to the talk-in with Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson last year at the Cleveland Arms in Wolverhampton. Kelvin recounted a story from his early racing days (and apologies if in the year in between I have mis-remembered it - but I think I've got it right) which went something like this...

1985. Kelvin was still a youngster in his 1st season with the Bees and very much still making his way in the sport. His bikes are written off on the way back from the World Pairs final in Poland whilst they were being transported in Kenny Carter's van, which was involved in an accident. This essentially left him with no decent UK equipment. Kelvin gets in touch with Charles Ochiltree to inform him of the situation. The long and short of it was that Kelvin was left to sort himself out with equipment for the next Bees meeting. The CO's position was that it was Kelvin's own responsibility to sort himself out with equipment.

As I said, apologies if I've got this story wrong. I'd had a few drinks that night, but I think I'm pretty much on the money with it.

Returning to the Bridger situation, there are 2 sides to every story. We've heard Lewis's side and I await the Bees version of events with interest.

No Bridger is the best bit of Bees 2015 team news I've heard so far, he's a complete moron and a pretty poor speedway rider unless it's on a tiny little trick track like Lakeside or Eastie.

I was praying it wasn't true when I heard the rumours we might be signing him, looks like my prayers were answered! Now if we could just get Chris Simpson back on board with the presentation this will be a good couple of steps in the right direction!

Regarding a replacement I would love to see Pawlicki but I doubt it will happen. A speedway rider with some speedway bikes would be good!

only got 2 words to describe Lewis Bridger. 1st begins with D and 2nd word is Head....

Remember a few seasons bk when he was ranting over facebook bout not being picked for 1st round of world cup, i commented saying 'other riders do there talking on the track instead of crying about it over facebook and deserved to be picked before you'

I then got a private message from him saying to go find him after a meeting so he could stamp on my head...

Think he actually got picked for race off after that and scored 0. haha

The guy is a complete idiot and the sport is better off without him

The boy is an idiot! Maybe if he spent his money wisely he wouldn't have to rely on other people all the time for all his stuff!

Well said Mr blobby some people just think life owes them, what a waste of talent!!

I kept an open mind on Bridger when we signed him, hoping he'd be prepared and ready to make a go of it. Doesn't sound like that was the case though, so probably better off without him if he was just going to cobble a bike together.

As for his replacement, if no more double uppers are allowed then my vote goes for Nicolai Klindt, realistically of course, as Shamek will never be likely under Horton's ownership and even if he did sign for us we'd probably not see the best of him, same as KK in 2013. Klindt did a good job for Leicester last year I thought and would probably be good for helping the team spirit.

It's a shame about Lewis but he needs the year out as planned and if he wants to come back into the sport next season he needs to get his own equipment set up and change his life style a bit. He could be a much better rider than he is with a bit more dedication

Surely before they opted for Lewis they would have spoken to Shamek Pawlicki so he looks unlikely so maybe the more obvious or likely replacements are Krzysztof Buczkowski or Joonas Kylmakorpi which will no doubt also be targets for Leicester too.

Davey Watt?.

The same Davey Watt that is signed for Poole ?

I think Joonas might not be on Leicester's list because of his Long Track commitments?

TNT..... The same Davey Watt that is signed for Poole ?

Yes, thank goodness.

What's all the fuss about...Bridger's still in the team...the Bees web site says so...and it always tells the truth doesn't it?

Or is his team place one that is one of the vacancies that is also being advertised on the web site along with Chris Simpson's former job? Is Peter York's job up for grabs too? Or is that too much to hope for?

Shame about the radio broadcast being cancelled. Could have made interesting listening. Coventry City coming to the rescue there?

Gemini didn't realise he had signed gorgeous Poole just the average I thought would fit. Personally I think Kylmankorpi is not the rider he was last time he rode in the cup winning side. I must say I am relieved Bridger has thrown his hatin the ring at this stage because it would have happened at some stage. Still look forward to the season but that one rider could be crucial and one hopes Mick Horton and team can name that rider ASAP.
