Brooksy
Aaron can do as good if not better than Allen at the Dale, no idea about Kennett though that could be a big difference. How does he go there? Â On paper those two guests don't weaken us much, if at all, but Olly will be sorely missed as the captain and for his knowledge and experience as much as for his scoring potential. A big blow for the Rebels.
lucifer sam
Olly Allen's out of both legs apparently. Kennett guesting on Friday and Summers on Saturday. Does that even things up enough for you whingeing Monarch fans? Steve Worrall scored 4 from 4 rides on his only visit to the OTA this year, so r/r should cover that. Advantage Edinburgh now I think.  I'm sure they'll find something else instead.  The funniest whinge was regarding Somerset putting their admission price up (by just a single £1) to £16, when the standard admission price for the Edinburgh leg is.... yes, you guessed it, £16.  All the best Rob

lucifer sam
Err - £14 if you buy it prior to match day.  Read what I said, the standard admission price, not the discounted one.  I would think most travelling fans would still pay the £16, after all it's a lot of fuss to set up an online account for one visit, plus what happens if it piddles down at noon on the day of the meeting. Not that I don't think it's a good idea - I think it's a cracking one and well done to the Edinburgh management on thinking it up.  But for visiting fans, the standard price for both legs is the same price.  All the best Rob

It's swings and roundabouts with guests / R/R's.  R/R for Kurtz at Somerset doesn't weaken them one bit as those that can take a ride can score what Kurtz does around the OTA. Losing Stevie for us on the other side, (based on last time) doesn't really weaken us either as his 4pts from last time should really be achievable by Justin and Max (who both top scored in the league) and maybe a point or two from Derek and Aaron.  At Armadale, Kurtz was woeful so R/R (including one for track expert Morris) strengthens the Rebels considerably. R/R for Edinburgh for Stevie can be hit and miss but it's hopeful that his rides can score 6-8pts from R/R thus matching Stevie's expected form around the Dale recently.  The guests? Have no clue how Kennett goes at OTA but Summers for Allen at Armadale again is a big advantage based on this seasons' form.  Overall? with the changes now, it seems as though Somerset are capable of scoring more than their previous 38pts in the league. Therefore, we're going to have to hit minimum of 40 on Friday at OTA to stand a chance of winning the league (which we've done anyway by finishing top...)!  This showdown may go down to the points that our top 2 score on Friday. Surely Cook and Masters woh are bang in form, will outscore what they achieved a couple of months ago...  All in all, it's an intriguing tie which could go down to heat 15 on Saturday... Here's hoping we pull a "Foxhall" on Friday and at least keep it close for the return...  Not being smug (as I really can't stand all that rubbish) but I'm still believing in this team... They've been at their most dangerous with their backs against the wall and it seems certainly on Friday, this will be the case.

Name me something that you can purchase on the internet these days without having to give your name and address????  Anyway, for 2mins work, I don't see the issue with away supporters purchasing them online... I know if Somerset had this option, I'd be doing it before Friday night irrespective whether I'd have to register or not.
emerald tyke
Could any regular Somerset fans please advise on the parking situation at OTA? Only been a few times to this track and have managed to fit in their field (!) should a maaaaoooooosive crowd arrive from Edinburgh for this is there plenty room there? I'm slightly worried about the weather forecast... I'll be getting the ferry over from ireland for this and would love to see racing. Thanks

cyclone
Though everyone would have preferred both sides at full strength, imo the r/r & guest changes probably even out. Â Re the pros & cons of the Play-Offs, every club is aware of the the situation, irrespective of final league table positions. Â Somerset were top of the table in 2012, but lost out in the Play-Off Final. Â If Monarchs had beaten top of the table Somerset in 2013, I would have happily accepted the trophy being won by my team. Â So if the Rebels are the winners this season, here's one Monarchs fan who wont bleat about the unfairness of it all.

Cliffeboy
Bad omen for the Rebels losing their No 1 rider and skipper in the play off final again. Olly Allen is pretty awesome around the OTA a comfortable max when Edinburgh were last in town. I suppose it's what Eddie Kennett that turns up, ditto Summers up at Edinburgh. How good would the Monarchs be feeling if Cook missed both matched. The other five Rebels will scrap for every point but the pendulum I feel May have swung back to Scotland again.
oldtimer
Local BBC weather forecast for Oak Tree Friday is rain in the morning, clearing by 1pm. Forecast is a clear night, so wrap up warm. Edited October 22, 2014 by oldtimer

westlakejawa
As I understand it,if you park 'in front'of the stadium the revenue goes to the stadium owners. If parking'at the side'revenue goes to Edinburgh speedway club.
