and just to highlight the point I have had fans of three other clubs tell me today, independently, whats happening at Glasgow next season plus another hint that something big is coming up (in fairness to the one who made a hint they didnt give any other details). The three independent comments contain the same information......

I tried to PM you but it failed!

On the future at Glasgow, your informants know more than me, and I still own the company I have the outline of an agreement in place but it is only that, nothing formal as yet. As soon as there is something to say, you won't be able to shut me up but, until then everyone, especially me, has to be patient

Ive never doubted that about you Gordon but there are others not so well versed in when they should keep their gob shut sadly.

My PM gets filled up on here with rubbish so unless you get me at just the right time you will struggle. My email address is still the same as its always been but to be honest its probably better that you posted on here anyhow for all to see

The problem over the last couple of years i see was the owners were not based in Glasgow but abroad and very rarely were seen at the track. It was left to 4or5 directors who done the job on a voluntary basis to the best of there ability but in my experience they were all doing the same job there nobody was delegating. The problem with information being heard from other clubs was i believe from information i was told was a certain promotors son. Re the post telling were riders to go what rubbish we race on a Sunday we will always have these problems unless we have a team off R Harrisons who only races in the PL Re the gossip its on the Glasgow webb site by Gordon if things come to fruitition exciting times ahead as you say there is a lot of people sayihg things but one t still to be crossed as Gordon says

Re my beloved Ice Hockey not me. Most team sports now you only find out who is appearing is when they appear on the pitch or arena at the start off the game most people go to support there team

I missed more meetings this season than any other.

In fact, I went to Armadale more.

Why? It's hard to put my finger on one reason.

When I think about it, it was probably a culmination of things.

1. Sorry to say, but the lack of effort of some riders just weren't worth me giving up a Sunday afternoon/early evening which can be family time.

I can remember in the past going week in, week out (and taking the wrath of her indoors) just to watch one rider in particular. He was always professionally turned out (bike/engine and appearance), he always gave 100%, he was a master of his craft and a joy to watch, when he came to the tapes the adrenalin started flowing. That man was Shane Parker. Yes, he's gone and I need to move on. But we all need our favourites. And yes I know there are 6 other riders, but the Messiah alone made me attend. And yes I also know there's not many like him.

Wolbert frankly never came up to expectations. I've heard/read about his equipment. All I know is I got pee'd off far too often watching him give up, not trying. He was our number one and failed in doing that - not because of ability. If I go to see a comedian and he isn't funny, guess what, I don't go to see him again. Yes some will come on here to tell me I should go week in, week out and support the club financially. Well in the simplest of terms, I'm not lucky enough to have your disposable income. You pay for me, I'll go.

2. Earlier this year I attended to watch Dimitri. He brought me to Ashfield. Enthusiastic, a trier, developed by the race/week. A joy to watch. When he got injured, some of the magic of attending died. Rusty entertained and exceeded expectations. Theo was Theo, he did his job. Kasper was another who tried, and that's all I can ask.

3. The promotion and meeting presentation. Lioness's thoughts about communication and start times mirror mine so I won't repeat them, except to say, as a family we make plans for Sundays in advance. A regular start time means I get my way. If not, my cash goes elsewhere. Meeting presentations were poor. And this is where the friends of those involved circle the wagons and get abusive on the Facebook clique page (BTW Tigers need more than just the few of you attending to break even). I can still remember the total embarrassment of a girl walking round the track with the riders pre-meeting singing Eye of the Tiger. Yes that was two seasons ago, but the same mentality which thought it was a good idea, remains at the club. The paying public deserve a professional presentation. Their minds need occupying between races (especially if there was a lack of excitement in the preceding 60 seconds), otherwise boredom sets in, and a feel bad factor develops and people leave the meeting with that in mind. So next meeting, instead of attending be a 'given', you think "can I be bothered going?"

The tone of Red Alert I've commented on several times over the last two years. In simple terms, I don't need 10 paragraphs of Jackanory to patronise me into attending a bottom of the league meeting against a team I know won't entertain me. Please cut out the bullsh!t. I, and all the other Tigers supporters don't stitch up the back!

I started by saying I couldn't put my finger on it exactly .... but having written this I think I have a better idea ...... a lack of adrenalin rush for george.m at meetings.

Good post George , but sadly the things you describe is repeated at many tracks up and down the country . I don't have the answers , but speedway needs to give itself a shake . Poorly prepared tracks in ramshackle stadiums , listening to cringing amateur presentation isn't the way to attract new sponsors and fans to the sport . The hardcore supporter is becoming an ageing , dwindling band and unless new blood can be drawn to the sport , I cant see it surviving another decade in it's present form .

I take it everything will be signed. sealed and delivered by the B.S.P.A. meeting?

I don't think it would have to be. Don't confuse ownership of a club with promotion of a club.

The promoters (Dick and Hamilton) will attend the promoters' AGM, and can declare the intention of Glasgow running next year.

If the deal doesn't go down, Gordon Pairman can still punt it elsewhere.

Seems all quiet on that front,Seems pointless to fine the Clubs concerned when they are struggling for cash though.

Thank's mate, agree with you on that, not worth the hassle? ;)

And Thank You to you too Sir, much appreciated. :t:
