Thank you. What a treat to warm up the anticipation for the new season. Emil looked very sharp. Especially nice to view after surviving the coldest, rottenest, snowiest winter since i've been here. All the best. Alan.

17 mins video of yesterday`s challenge match Gniezno v Zielona Gora here http://speedwaytv.sportowefakty.pl/13826/sparing-start-gniezno-falubaz-zielona-gora-18032015

Hope that's not the sign of things to come from Poland this season!!!!? Strung out processional races won by turn 2 on the first lap in virtually every race.

Hope the fans that were watching were not charged to go in??!

Have you ever watched a meeting from the hotel balcony on turn 3 and does each room come with a start-line babe ? Cobweb blowing practice and nice to see the ageless Pepe on song. Regards from a snowy Pa. Alan.

It was a challenge between a div 1 side home to an Extraleague club after all. I`m not 100% sure but I think all the punters were charged was under £2 for a programme. Maybe better value than the mauling at Birmingham on Wednesday ;)

Sadly the hotel is now closed or was when I popped in on the way back to Poznan airport last season. They are holding the 1st meeting there of this season`s world cup-I am not convinced the racing will be upto much.

I have seen some cracking meetings at Gniezno over the years, highlight being Gniezno v Rivne, turned up expecting a home massacre but we were treated to a cracking battle.

Poland will doubtless romp the round, but there could be some good scraps

Hi Rico, I have seen a few on the internet over the years-league matches and the big "Boleslaw the brave" meetings and have been generally disappointed with the racing.
